I'm getting this down to a science... I can guess the join date by reading the question.

febreeze works wonders, but only used it once. I used to smoke (just quit like 3 wks ago) and smoke occasionally with the windows down. it smells possibly for like a day or two but suprisingly all the smell actually goes away. people who ride in my car now dont smell any smoke at all. thank goodness my car doesnt smell now.

My car used to belong to a smoker (which I didn't smell at when I looked at the car).

It's been 2 years I've owned it and it still smells like smoke, and I don't smoke.

once you smoke it doesn't go away.

I like it. I should bottle it and sell it as a cologne

OMG. this was hilarious...

anyway, im a smoker, but I NEVER smoke in my Z. Then again i go thru a pack every 4 days, so im not too bad. But id rather keep it as clean smelling as possible, if i ever need a smoke on a long drive i stop, get out, smoke, and then drive off lol

Yeah.... And? Are you CEO of Truth.com or something? If you're going to lecture about smoking, take it to the Off Topic Forum....

Now for you Z smokers, this is how to keep your Z from smelling like stale smoke and ash...

1) Buy one of these http://www.glade.com/car-air-fresheners/ I recommed the blue or green scent.

2) attach to the driver's side, center vent

3) roll down the windows as usual

4) turn on the Air or AC. Make sure your door vent is facing towards the window, not at you. does not have to be full blast just strong enough to blow the smoke and circulate the air freshner.

5) smoke

6) When you're done, keep the air on and window down until you park.

You will notice that your Z will gradually smell better with my secret method. People still say I have "the new car smell" because of this little trick.

If you've been smoking heavily, you may have to do a once or twice over treatment of febreeze on the headliner and inside hatch cuz thats where the smoke tends to linger. There is also a little switch on the air freshner to control the intensity or even close it. This switch is your friend. You do not want it open all the time otherwise your Z will smell like a bathroom!
