Very good, I was at that number by my second week. Then again I'm 19 and coming from an 03 accord to a 06 Z makes you want to drive it.

Talk about Oil change! I need to do that. I'm at 3000 and havn't done the first one. I think i still have another 500.

Congrats on the car! It only gets better with age (and modification, haha).

Just wait until you go WOT.. and until you mod it. That's when the real fun begins.

I put 1300 miles the first day and a half I owned her... but thats because I bought it in Miami and drove it up to NJ.

Enjoy the 1st time you open her up fully, its euphoric.

1,200 is almost around the corner! Mine finally hit it two weeks ago. What a great feeling! Haven't taken it above 5.5k yet though...baby steps.

Its been fun driving the Z whenever I can and its been harder to keep it under 4k.

I just bought the clear corners from Performance Nissan for my dad for fathers day and hopefully we'll get them installed this weekend.

I've always wondered about the "break in", my wife is an interpreter in a joint american-japanese engine plant and when they hot test each engine, they run the hell out of it all up and down the rev range, run them at high rpm for a set time etc. Then they tell you to take it easy on the engine for 1,200 miles. I put 1,600 on mine in a month and drove it like I wanted to.

You do know that there is more than just the engine that needs broken in, right? I would also rather follow the guidelines set in the manual than to have a headache later down the road. Its not in the manual to take up space.

this is why i think you dont need to baby the engine at 1st, i was also told the same thing by techs.

i think one of the main reasons you will see stuff in the owners manual is to cover missans ***,, just in case kinda thing

but dont get me wrong, while i think its ok to take it pass 4k(rpm) i dont think people should push it hard all the time.

it wont hurt anything but i wouldnt push it to hard.
