Question Air Pressure in the ECU

Does this refresh every 30 seconds I believe like everything else? Somehow within a few weeks of owning my car (new 06) the front tire pressure is 30 and the rear is 31. It is supposed to be 35 if I am not mistaken, but can I trust the ecu readings compared to the air pressure sticks at the places you get air for your tires from? should i wait until my ecu reads 35 or the stick or are they both pretty accurate?

The TPS sensors are supposed to be accurate to within 1psi. Don't trust the air gauges at gas stations. Buy yourself a good quality dial gauge (about $30) and use it when putting air in your tires.

I'd guess that the pressure is much too low if you are only at 30-35.

Question Air pressure

So, is the air pressure supposed to be the same for all size/style of tires?

I haven't driven my car in a week, but am now curious to see what the tire pressure reading is. I have offset 20" wheels.... do I need to check to see what the recommended tire pressure should be?

Max pressure in most tires is 51psi. Just double check your sidewalls.

The tire pressure is supposed to be measured cold. For most Z's it's 35psi, check the label on the drivers door jamb for the exact pressure for your particular model.

Check your manual. I used to run mine at 30-31 and it was fine but I got the annoying light and there was definitely some increased uneven wear on the tires. Also, some noise. Since I got the new tires on I've kept them at 35 w/ no problems.

hmmm, I have a new 06Z and I dont think my onboard computer tells me my tire pressure?

Is this feature a stock feature for you guys in the states? or is it only included on some trim levels?

35 PSI for cold tires (all of them).

Odin, your tire pressure should be accessible via the trip computer. It shows F: XX
F: XX by default (front tires), then push the select/reset button to switch to
R: XX
R: XX to view the rear tire pressure. The older models didn't have a tire sensor for the base trims. The 06 should have the tire pressure monitor in the base. Check your manual. Euro models can't be too much different.

It's ok, but why not just lower it 2 psi so you have 35psi? If you over inflate, then the middle of the tires will wear out more.. If you under inflate, then outsides of tires will wear out more.

Get it lower than 35 (cold) and then use one of those automatic shut off pumps once it reaches the set psi of 35.. Even then, I'm not sure it'll be EXACTLY 35, but it'll be close.
