Default That sound when Shifting?

In the movies, whenever the modded cars shift gears, there's a sharp hissing sound. What makes that sound? Is it blow off valves? I thouhgt Blow off valves were only used with turbos or something.

For less than $50 on eBay, you can buy a device that emits that same sound and install it under your hood. I kid you not!

So far all of the cars in all of the F&F movies made that sound, so are they all turbo'd or what? I just want to know what upgrade mod causes the sound, and why does it happen only when they shift gears? Does anyone actually know the answer?

Maybe it will bring the turbo prices down because everyone will want one.

hahahahahaha

but to answer the question yes its because he has the turbo and the blow off valve is making that sound. The whole point of the blow off valve is to relieve excess turbo pressure that results from shutting the throttle rapidly under boost conditions.

If your car is not turbo charged already you can get that real blowoff sound for about 6/7000 dollars.

I sincerely hope you're not implying that your link and your "I can get you discounts" posts are the same as these hilarious links to Ebay items...

No, but is that Ebay seller one of your paying sponsors? Funny, or not, they're selling something, and getting free advertising from one of your users.

It's your friggin rules, if you want to enforce them, then do it, but don't pick and choose when you're going to do it.

None of our sponsors would sell that crap, so he's not cutting into their advertising dollars. You on the other hand, were....not to mention the fact that you posted yours in what, 3 different threads here?

Thanks for advising me on my duties, but I think I have it under control. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to PM me, but don't do it in this thread. Thanks.
