I've never had an automatic car, So, I've gotten used to doin it all and still being able to drive. Why manual over auto? faster, stronger top end (6speed) better on brakes due to downshifting, cheaper, looks better having M/T in a sports car, can speed up faster thru traffic. Don't have to wait for it to kick in, just drop it into gear! More control over car. Do I really have to keep goin? Oh yea, way more fun to drive stick 2!

I don't know about all that but the grannys and soccer moms usually beat me off the line because I wait at the lights in neutral and by the time I get in gear and get going, they have the whole shot whipping that family wagon across the intersection, then when they sift...., it's lightning fast.

10 bucks it's because of all the dang traffic here! Especially in Austin and Dallas! If I ever get my dream car (Z) I am thinking A/T myself!

some of the fasters sports cars=A/T everyone who thinks m/t>a/t needs to grow up and realize its a personal preference and not everyone can drive a stick, and because you can drive a m/t while someone with an a/t can't wheither they choose not to or have a disability and can't doesn't make you any more of a man.

Because it is so satisfying when you perfectly rev-match on a heel-toe downshift when approaching a decreasing radii-turn, then being in the right gear as the front end begins to plow then you balance the car for a nice bit of power-oversteer on the way out. I M/T isn't as smooth or convienent as a A/T but its a lot more fun and gratify when driven correctly.
