Default 2006 Differences...

So the other day...I'm out w/ a girl at Bandidos getting drinks. Outside the window so i can keep an eye on it is my Z. Some guy in an '06 Z, blue just like mine, pulls into the lot. I don't get the chance to talk to him. A few days later, he was there again, as was I. This time he wasn't in his Z...but i recognized him so i went and chatted.

Point of the story...He claims that the '06 Z's have stronger internals than the older models and that's why he's going TT instead of supercharged cuz then he can boost it way up and push 6-700 HP to the pavement. I told him that from what I've read that he better not go much over 400HP and that could even be risky. He proceeds to be an a$$hole and let me know that he's a mechanic and works on cars for a living and doesn't need some punk kid telling him what he can and can't do to his car. So I wanted to know...is it true that the new ones have magically switched the internals to stronger forged pistons/rods? I seriously doubt it since when i asked what TT kit he was going with he said, "Oh, it's got new injectors and new fuel pump and an intercooler. IT's got two turbos. So yeah, it's the best one out...at least 10 grand." Which first off...didn't answer my question...and second...to me...made him loook kinda dumb. I know you can get most of the kits for $6-7k easily. Anyways...just thought i'd check so that next time i see him, NOT in his Z cuz the motors blown, i can laugh and ask how his forged rods/pistons held up for him! haha...

Yes, the internals were beefed up for the rev-up motors.

yeah, Nissan updated '06 models with stronger internals...however,it is
questionable to say it can still hold up to 700whp with stock internals..

I guess the TT set up he is talking about is new APS Extreme kit and yes
it is very costy - about $9000.

700 rwhp with the rev-up stock internals? I don't think so. I wouldn't worry about what he said...I don't think he surfs the forums very much.

Sounds like the guy knew what he was talking about and took you to school.
