good point

come someone confirm Nissan use Philips or Osram 4100K globes, or are they another brand?

the ballasts have nothing to do with the color output, its all in the globes

if they're another brand, like the ballasts being Matshu****a (something like that) ill switch em out for Philips 4100K straight away

It's quite easy to solve this issue, buy two 8000k bulbs on ebay, spend 100 bucks, then spend another 10 dollars for a 6 pack and change them. You will love the result.

Cops pull people over here in Seattle for having headlights that blue (its illegal). Plus, I dont want to lose much lumen output, which is common when going to 8000K+ bulbs.

I saw a pair of 10,000K bulbs in an STI once, and it looked like crap. The lights were so purple and dim that they were less output than the regular halogen headlights on my 98' Pathfinder. lol....

quick question,, do you have to change anything else when upgrading to a better hid bulb? You simply need to replace the bulbs only right? I have an 03 performance but i never noticed the yellowing,,
thanks

Please note this common misconception. Technically you are not "upgrading" you are actually downgrading to get better color.

Don't be fooled by color vs usable light. Pictures are very deceiving.

Maybe your lenses are yellowing or something because my lights are blue/purple and no hint of yellow at all.
