My road to owning a 350Z coupe
The roadster in stock form will never be as fast or nimble as the coupe...especially the older Z's (03-05). BUT, you said you were going to go FI, so really it doesnt matter. Just go look up BamBam on here. He has one of the nicest and fastest roadsters out.
if you get the convertible, you gotta get some roll bars because i heard the Z roadsters flip easily. make sure your rollbars are made in brazil though, since the metal used over there are stronger than the metals used in japan and the united states.
also, the roadster weighs a good 400 pounds more than a coupe, so you're going to lose like 40 horsepower. a popcharger will solve that though.

While the redesign of the Camry is very nice...It's a HUGE STEP DOWN from your BMW and has the consistent rep of being that "old boring *** Toyota 4 door sedan" AND although Toyota is desperately ATTEMPTING to market it as a "Sports Sedan"...it will NEVER likely attain this status...IMO (Oh yeah...The Toyota Avalon is extremely corny!).
I'm 40 and have a '05 Z Coupe used mostly on weekends, days off, etc. (Daily Driver is a '05 Pontiac Grand Prix -Company Car).
She's got about 6900 Miles on her , has excellent torque and accelerates strong, very roomy for a 2 seater hatchback sportscar, and is definitely a head turner!
The ONLY thing I wish it had is a SUNROOF...Unfortunately, the roof line slopes too sharply and not enough space for a sunroof. I'll probably trade it in on a Roadster when the lease is up!
Let us know what you decide to buy!

The Mitsu Eclipse V6??? ARE YOU JOKING??
Plus, the so-called "New and Improved" Eclipse (which is supposed to be Mitsu's last ditch effort to avoid bankruptcy, since Daimler-Chrysler REFUSED to bail 'em out financially) is MUCH heavier than the last gen. Eclipse and the increased HP doesn't make up for the added weight!
Oh yeah, it's mad corny looking..IMO!!

He's wasting forum resources and purposely making post after post trying to incite flame wars.
That sounds like acceptable use to me.

I still cant decide if the air bag package is worth it. i had it and it gives you peace of mind, but I have seen a few horrible wreck involving my friends in the last 2 weeks and not once did a single airbag go off, they had side, curtain and frontal airbags also. Pics followed are from my cousins new Tundra. Head on collosion with 18 wheeler, sorta, lucky it was off to the side and not directly head on.

So what does that do to my 1/4 miles and 0-60 times...

I can't emphasize enough how gladly I would give up a couple tenths on the 1/4 track for the thrill of the top down enjoyment.
My friend was looking at a mustang(he needs back seats) the difference between the coupe and convertible in that platform is VERY noticeable, lose the rigidity and they tuned the suspension to be softer. In that case I wouldn't go convertible, but the ZR doesn't suffer that engineering flaw.
Again throw the TT's on that thing and you are going to have a frickin beast. Driver skills will come more into play than the weight.
hey if you're seriously looking for a 2door sportscar, then you might consider getting an rx8 and swap the engine out with LS2. reason being, the rx8 is perfect 50/50 and it weighs less than a Z and with the LS2 engine, you can get upwards of 500horses to the wheels with full boltons.
it would smoke a stop 350z in straightline, handling, corners, braking and even in the looks department. to top it all off, the rx8 has backseats, but you can hide them with a blanket if you want people to think your car is a true 2 seater. you get best of both worlds if you ask me.

Was your cousin trying to make a left turn when the accident occurred?

Stock LS2 engine only produces 380hp how are you going to bolt-on 120hp on an rx-8? I think the rx-8 is an ugly p.o.s. Even if you could fit(which I dont think is possible) that hugh 5.7liter V8 in that cramped space under the hood of an rx-8 you would have to buy a whole new tranny along with a new engine and a list so long I am not even going to try and figure out. You cant just swap the the engine and expect everything to work. You have to swap every single thing in there.
