Added my first poll on this board...

What exterior paint/interior fabric combination do you own? - MY350Z.COM Forums:
https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/201554-what-exterior-paint-interior-fabric-combination-do-you-own.html

And if anyone has picture of Frost Leather in their 350Z, can you share those pictures or point me to right place?

Thanks much!

Why the hell would you cover up the back seats with a blanket, so that people won't notice?? The rear seats in the RX-8 are small, but VERY useable for storage mostly, or the rare 3rd passenger, if neccesary

Uncutscrotum boy...You truly are a FOOL as others have clearly stated!

If he wants to learn drifting, then the coupe is the safer way to go. Although, if I wanted to learn drifting, I would start off with a much cheaper car since you're pretty likely to beat the crap out of a drift car.

So first round of price quotes through VPP:

2006 350Z Coupe 6sp Grand Touring:

a) purchase price of $33,382.50 (final price), includes following options:
* Aluminum Kick Plate
* Carpeted Floor Mats

b) 3 years lease price of $581/month with $18,000 residual payment.

Would you go for a buy or lease?

Thanks much!

Also are the "pre-painted to factory body colors splash guards" standard add-on on certain 350Z models, eg. Grand Touring?

Or are they only available as accessory only as after-purchase add-ons?

I can't seem to get definitive answer on this from my research since the splash guards doesn't seem to show as vehicle option, so i'm guessing it's an dealer installed and not a factory option (???).

Not sure what the financing rates are these days, but I am only paying $565/mos to own my roadster. Loan amount was $32,200. Nice thing is, I have $4,000 equity after 20 months if I trade it in, $6,000 if I sell private party. With a lease at the end of 3 years you have nothing.

Even if the purchase payment is $100/mos more(doubtful) than the lease, you should have more than $3600 equity in your car after 3 years of payments.

After 3 years you should owe about $15K on the car if you purchase, I have to beleive a Grand Touring Z will be worth more than $18 grand after just 3 years.

Just tossing this in, but if you're very concerned with weight, you could look at buying a 1 year old 2005 off a dealer lot for cheap. The 03-05s weigh approximatly 150-200 pounds less than a 2006, depending on model. Most of the added weight is additional sound dampening from what I understand.

Hey, thanks for that idea.

In fact i'm now considering the 2006 350Z coupe Track model. It's curb weight comes in at 3,370 lbs, which is whopping ~34 lbs lighter than the Grand Touring (not much but still it's something). And Track model is $1,190 cheaper. If i'm going to consider anything other than Grand Touring, most likely Track will be it and only that, since anything other model, the cost of the Brembo Big Brake Kit and the RAYS wheels alone are worth more than the price difference between Track and anything else, eg. Touring model, compared to install the Brembo and such rims afterwards.

And looks like Track lacks compared to Grand Touring model,

a) leather/power/heated seats
b) Bose stereo system

I can probably live without the Bose stereo system (and if i want great sounding car stereo, for that drive i'll hop into my DINAN5 bimmer).

So then comes down to cloth versus leather/power/heated seats. I do like heated seats for sure and power seat is a nice convenience feature. The later i can probably live without since afterall, just how many times do you have to fuss with seat settings? My other car has 12-way adjustments (or something like that), and you set the memory and you just don't worry about it after getting that perfect setting.

So it's most likely leather/heated (with power removed) seats versus cloth. ARGH!!! Tough choice.

Do most folks that view 350Z as purist's sports car think carbon cloth, non-power, non-heated seats to be acceptable tradeoff?

Infact later on, is it possible for me to replace the cloth seats with the leather/power/heated seats as a plug-n-play replacement?

Talking 06 350z

Hi
I just purchased an 06 convertable touring last saturday. They gave me a 3500.00 discount on the price from sticker. It's loaded auto trans interlargo red (I believe what they call it). Pretty nice car so far. You can probably get a good deal this month on any remaining 06. ZThe 07 will be here in 3 weeks. Not much change however until 09 when the (Big shaker) comes that is supposed to compete with the 911. I hear it's going to be some car. Good Luck.

lots of people have replaced their cloth with leather from leatherseats.com. you can go custom as well with two tone colors and embroidery.

if im not mistaken they also sell heating elements for the seats.

or you can just buy someone's entire seats and plug them in (might need to rig up some wiring for the power/heat - that i dont know).

The 350Z is not a purist's sports car. It's closer to a GT. The concept of this car (especially for 2006) is a high-performance car with plenty of creature comforts. That being said, the cloth seats are still very comfortable, so I don't think you'll feel as though you're missing out by going with them.
