I finally got a Z!!!
Ok, I know a lot of people post this stuff and it gets kind of annoying but I just have to share. It’s a silverstone track model with everything except nav (Have to have my brembos). Thanks to all of you for the great posts about the car because it definitely helped me make up my mind.
I must admit that I was a little bit intimidated about going to the dealership after hearing all the horror stories. I expected to be ripped off but was pleasantly surprised. I can post the details of my dealership saga for anyone who lives in NJ and is looking for a Z but I think a short summary will do (let me know if you want details).

1.Warnock Nissan – A while back someone mentioned this as a respectable place. No offence but the recommended salesperson was an idiot.
2.Hilltop Nissan – Crooks. No other way to describe it.
3.East Coast Nissan – The guy that took care of me was John Zapata. No hassles, no pressure. I got a test drive within 5 min and I was treated like any good customer deserves to be treated. Paid exactly what I wanted. Ordered the car on the Feb 8th got it Feb 19th. If my family or I will be buying another Nissan in the future this will be the guy that I will go to first. They screwed up on two things: a. put dealership sticker on the car (pissed me off incredibly - but they WILL take it off) b. they do a weird thing with the extended warranty (I think it is a ripoff i.e too expensive) so I did not buy it.

The car is awesome. Compared to my 14yr old 240sx it accelerates like an F-22, quieter than a lexus, and rides like a caddy.


The only place where I did get screwed is my insurance. I hate this @#$%% state, insurance is high, cost of living is high, they salt roads like there is no tomorrow, can’t pump your own gas, and anyone can get a license (sorry needed to vent)

i hear ya man
NJ is gotta be the worst state to live in for many reasons.
I have had to put off the idea of buying a z because i need to get a 4x4 for the winter, no way would that z see roads here, they put down so much salt, its instant corrosion for your car. Also i agree we have the higest insurance around, im on njm (one of the best and cheapest in the state) when i had my 1985 chevy s-10 it had a 350 in it, it was a race truck turned street legal but anyway, we had it listed as a v6 with 250 thousand miles on it and they still nabbed me for 800 a year for just liability. That is crazy when you can get full coverage for a much newer vehicle for the same price in other states. In a year and a half i go away to college and ill be living there, i can not wait to change residency b/c i would love to experience some cheaper insurance. And if you wanna go into taxes HA don't even bring that up to jersey people b/c we pay one of the highest taxes nationwide. to sum it up, jersey sucks and i don't know why people are moving here in the rate that they are. My excuse, i was born here, but won't be here much longer.

yeah. insurance sucks. I was planning on keeping my 240 as a winter car but i don't think i can afford to pay insurance on both cars. I am seriously starting to think about winter tires/wheels for the Z. I will probably need a doctor the first time I see salt on that car. Yes, some people say it is just a car, but dammit, it is my baby.
