I posted a thread about that a few days ago as well!! It felt like someone threw a large rock at my rear bumper or something. It's happened 2wice and scared the ish outta me. Wonder what it is I thought it was a back fire but not for sure...

a few more details would help.....

are you launching hard? or just normal? are you gassing really hard...or quickly stepping on it? is it coming from one side?

you might have a really bad case of the rear axle click.....but thats a superficial guess.......

I experience this on normal take-off, nothing excessive, but a quick take-off.

Sounds exactly as though someone threw a pebble at the car or as if a rock got picked up off the road and smacked against the fender (which is what I thought it was until a week ago).

I had this problem about a year ago or so and had the axle/bearing replaced.

Does it sound like a tire iron hitting metal? You might want to check your spare tire and jack. Sometimes the fasteners get loose and things move around.
