Heart broken, not quite.
So I have been dying the past month and a half without my car. I got into an accident on may 28th and finally got my car back. The auto body shop took their time milking my insurance company for $9,013, when the estimation was $5,500. Now I am a patient person so I was willing to wait forever to get my car back as close to perfect as possible. Many people kept telling me the car would not feel the same, I should wish the frame was bent so I can get a new one, but I just wanted my baby back. The car was such a good depiction of who I am, and I didn't want to settle for anything else.
So I got the car back and it still feels the same, it's just that in the back of my mind I constantly think of getting into another accident so I regulate my self more. Not to say I still don't race or speed, I just won't blaze down the road to the gas station literally a minute away from my house, which I used to do before. I have a more disiplined mind now.
Now what's this rattling on about you guy's are probably thinking about, here's where it get's interesting. Be aware to all you speed demons. The auto body shop(that was recomended by a so called friend from work) screwed me over in the following way's...
1. They got used tires and rims from another 350Z. So the tire took an extra scrub to get the original shine. Also the aluminum is chipping off the wheels.
2. Secondly the front bumber's paint does not match the body, which I greatly feared during the month and a half. At first glance to any average joe it's a sweet *** car. To a car enthusiast the difference sticks out.
3. Lastly the most painful of all, they choose to replace the door instead of fix it. I thought to myself cool a new door it will work out for the better. Nope, I was wrong. The window problem that comes up so often on this forum is now my personal problem. If I push the window button to go up the window closes then goes down half way. I have to hold the button in order to close the window.
Amongst all these problems I still love my car, I just think of it as a little punishment for my careless actions. Be very careful to all. I would recommend going to a auto body shop that specializes in fixing imports or a dealership, with the car in the tragic event if it happens(let's have positive thoughts guy's and girl's). Also don't trust hicks to work on your japanese import. Half the people there didn't know my car existed and none of them have ever worked on my car before. I was gullible enough during my weak stage to choosing a body shop some one at work recommended. Drive safely.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. You'd think that after milking the insurance company of almost twice the estimated cost, your Z would come out perfect. At least you admit you were gullible in choosing a body shop someone at work recommended. Maybe next time you should look in the regional forums for a reputable body shop that has experience with Z's? Anyway bro, just a friendly suggestion.. take care and be safe.

Assshollles.
Man I crashed my Teg back in March, not my fault but I was speeding. The car is nowhere near the value of a Z, but of course I was pissed cuz I loved that car. To this day, the fender and window are broken cuz I just DGAF anymore.
I'm getting a Z anyways.
^pointless anecdote^
Good luck with your car and don't pay for anything that they could do for free. I.E. the crappy paintjob.
