Looks to me that you could have found an alternative if she was intent on a backseat

Here the same thing:

-People take their time to look at the outside of my Z
-They then look through the window and ask if they can sit in it for a moment
-They take their time to admire the sun burnt leather parts in my car
-They get out of the Z and look through the small back window and are amazed that there are no back seats!

So a bunch of us (9) where some place (am reluctant to name where, exactly) and we were a bit short on seats. Only cars available were my Z and my friends avalon. So, naturally, I grabbed the hottest girl from the group and said "you could ride with me." The rest had to squeeze in the avalon. (Yes, 5 in the back seat.)

Long story short, we had this one girl with us who I SWEAR is a natural blonde. She could not UNDERSTAND that Zs only have 2 seats. She kept looking at us, jealous, because she was going to be forced to sit in the avalon... and she kept saying as she pointed at my Z, "but why cant two of us go in there?"

No matter how many times I told her, she seemed to ignore "it only has two seats." Finally, I got out of the car, grabbed her by her blonde arm, and shoved her head in the Z to show her that back seats do not exist. Ugh!

^ my next car... But yeah when I bought my Z, my folks asked me where is the back seats. They expected it to have some small seats in the back becuase my old car(96 celica gt) had seats in the back. I told my mom it was only a 2 seater and she just shook her head. Now all my firends and family complain when I tell them its a 2 seater. Even my gf says it sucks because it has soo little space for anything. But the Z has always been a 2 seater sports car. If I wanted a 2by2, I would of got a G.

People who konw me know any car I own only has two seats. The majority of the cars I have own are two seaters. I love cars with only two seats. When lunch time comes around and all of us are like who is driving. I can't unless someone wants to ride in the "trunk" So yea 2 seater are selfish cars.

BTW - I love the Lotus Elise, but it barely has two seats as it is. You really don't know how small that car is, until you see it in person. It truely is the smallest car I have ever seen.

+1 to the nth power.

For anyone who wants a Z with a backseat, go buy another car.

besides the crossfire I can't think of any other 2 seater coupe (not roadster) that is under 30k... thus most people have most likely have NEVER been in a car with only two seats.

I agree... I love when people do the "Z vs <other car>" and they list the fact that the Z only has two seats as one of its "cons"... if you think the Z being a 2 seater is a bad thing please don't buy the Z.

The ONLY advantages to having a Z with a backseat are:

Lower Insurance b/c of 4 seats vs 2.

The option IS there...albeit a painful one...for 2 passengers in the back (I dated a girl once who had a 2+2 RX-7, we took a 2 hour drive to Atlantic City with her and her mom, with me laying ACROSS the 2 seats (sitting normally was physically painful..seriously..sideways wasn't too much better).

Extra storage space, of course.

BUT 4 seats make the Z seem more like a Sportscoupe = No Go ..IMO

Time to "trade in" your GF for a newer, more hip model...yeesh...She ACTUALLY said your Z sucks?? WTF is up with that...and what da hell does SHE drive??

Any female says that to me gets kicked to the curb...I'd have to ditch dat bytch.

depends on who you ask... to some people a car with a radio or AC make it too posh for a sports car... others require standard transmission for it to be a sports car, still other require it to be RWD...

and there are some who would say only a car with 2 or less seats can be a true sports car... to each his own

Haha no dude she says it sucks because its too small for everything. She helped me moved out from my apt. and I had to put all my stuff in her car because the Z has little trunk space. Don't get me wrong she loves the Z, but she says its too impractical. She got me a pop charger for my b-day man!!!! How cool is that. She drives a 330i.

del sol, slk... etc hard top convertable is basicly a roadster... besides I said some people would never say a fwd car is a sports car

I would say most people have never been inside of a 2 seater coupe (no convertable roadsters) besides the Z the only other one I have ever been is a corvette so I wouldn't be that surprised if people freaked out my car only had 2 seats.... 2 seater coupes are very uncommon

Whew! Glad I got to experience owning some true 2 seater RWD coupes before they become extinct:

'87 Fiero GT
'91 RX-7
'93 MR2
'05 Z

+1!!!!! i have a 3 yr old son. But we also have a Chevy Lumina, but EERYONE tells me to get a sedan or a car with back seats.....in all honesty, im starting to miss that extra room now. But the ONLY option for me is to trade to a G35C

Best part about two seats.

When going out I never have to drive or worrying about being DD. I prefer having only 1 extra seat.
