Question Stalling.. help!

Today I stalled 3 times, all when coming to a stop. I believe it happens when i pop it into neutral and cruise to a stop.. What causes this? I remember a thread about this a while back but I could not find it, sorry..

I have 24k miles on my car and this has never happened, then today 3 times! ??

It's probably your pop charger for some reason its does not like neutral

Glad I got a Nismo (AEM) :P

The car when stock should not stall when in neutral. I'm guessing its the popcharger. Make sure its installed correctly.

The Popcharger has a history of this. How long has yours been on the car? If you take it to Nissan and they determine that your MAF sensor is bad, they may deny warranty coverage because you're using an oiled filter. If that's the case, the sensor is $400!!! If it goes that route, PM me and I can hook you up with a new sensor. The one I have is listed FS here:

Hope that helps.

39 years of driving a car with a manual transmission and I have never used this technique. Never.

If youre in gear and it still does it, could be an idle control problem.

Could be your revs might've fallen a bit and need to be adjusted to rev a little bit higher on neutral.

please take off your pop charger and put back the stock intake when you take it to dealer...it'll save you lots of troubles. LOL

LMAO!!!! Well just went out to go ahead and clean my filter, I was hoping it was just dirty and that was causing me to stall for some reason.. Well I pop the hood and what do you know my Filter is just laying there in the engine bay, who knows what the hell my engine sucked in the last couple of days!!!

You guys think i could have caused any major damage?

Nah, just the possibility of sucking in anything from bugs to leaves. Since it was only a few days, depending on how much you drove it, I doubt anything serious has happened. You would have noticed otherwise.

But then again he does live in Texas.

I don't know what part but it's pretty sandy down there isn't it?

Get it checked out if you can. Better to catch a problem before it becomes one.

The worst thing that could have happened is sucking in a bunch of dirt that could wreak havoc on your internals. (my K&N always has little pebbles stuck between the pleats). Dirt can pass through the engine without any damage but it can also get wedged between the piston and the cylinder wall and gouge everything up. If damage was done it might not be real obvious, but having it looked at probably won't do you any good. If any damage was done, it's done. Just make sure you keep everything tight from now on.
