I would personally go with the rims just because I really don't listen to music in my Z. I mean I would have it on at like 7-8 volume (stock system) and I just don't notice it at all. So I guess you could say I'm just not a big Music guy, I would rather listen to my exhaust...

Depends on which stock wheels you got now... Do you have the Rays? If so,
I would start with buying a new sound system.
Otherwise go for wheels..... More people will see your Z from the outside than hear your music the inside....

Do you spend more time inside the car, or more time outside the car looking at your rims?
I say music first, then rims

BUT..that was in the mid-80's...all these college kids are pushin' nice rides now...LOL

Wheels benefit everyone looking at your car...Sound benefits you...

Seems like an easy choice to me

Did your car not come with wheels or a stereo?

Look at it this way, you already have a nice ride, and you said you are in college with a limited cash flow...keep that cash in a bank or something, or invest, I dunno. Get out of school, get the job, then pimp your ride.

My vote is for Rims and Tires.. the ride difference will be big, and the look is dramatically changed.. as for the sound system.. the rOarr of the engine is always music to my ears!

Wait on the sound system.. use the stock system to start with and upgrade your shoes!

Wheels and tires all the way.
I regret that I got sound system first before I got my wheels.

Default My $0.02...

System. You are a College student. Do you park at a College? Aren't College kids poor and some of them resort to stealing?

I think new rims would draw the wrong kind of attention to your car. Get A system, but PLEASE don't crank it in the parking lot of your college or you won't have it long.

Just my opinion. The stock stereo is one of the worst systems I have heard for long time. it is tiring to listen to. I can only handle so much and I have to turn it off. The only thing worse I have heard was in a rental Chevy silverado pickup.

Best cure for the stock non-bose radio is to fade all the way to the front. the rear speakers are not enclosed very well at all and they cancel some of the bass from the fronts. At least on the 06 350.

STEREO SYSTEM!!!

WTH please read your post , the Z is already nice to look at, even without the wheels, what makes you think that a "poor" collge student will just not steal the system...from my experience, I mean from what I have heard it is easier to rip out the system rather than stealing the rims.
