I have the Bose and hate it, not in college but dont have a lot of money. My sound upgrade is a $200 hu and the bass link from infinity, which i found online for half retail, or $150. install myself and im otd with a decent system for $400. the rims u cant cheap out on, when i do rims im doing brembo brakes and possible new suspension, so looking to drop 8k, big difference.

sound first if money is the issue.

I think new rims would draw the wrong kind of attention to your car. Get A system, but PLEASE don't crank it in the parking lot of your college or you won't have it long.

Just my opinion. The stock stereo is one of the worst systems I have heard for long time. it is tiring to listen to. I can only handle so much and I have to turn it off. The only thing worse I have heard was in a rental Chevy silverado pickup.

Best cure for the stock non-bose radio is to fade all the way to the front. the rear speakers are not enclosed very well at all and they cancel some of the bass from the fronts. At least on the 06 350.
STEREO SYSTEM!!!

I agree with hiz-n-herz on this one. Wheels will attract *a lot* more attention than a sound system, provided you're smart and don't "advertise" it by bumping it in places you park your car at frequently. True, you can probably steal a sound system easier than wheels, but if you go with a "stealth" install for the system people won't know you have one. I think it's a lot more probable that people will see rims on a Z and think about stealing them than for someone to go around car-to-car and peering in to steal something. Don't quote me on this, but if people were to go around looking to break into a car to steal something inside, I think they would target an easier car than the Z to break into.

To the OP, I have a pretty nice system in my car and am totally pleased with it. It totally adds to the driving experience!
