Default FI on a 2003 w/ 55k miles?

My Z has almost 55k miles on it. What would FI do to the life of the engine? I like to get on it every once in a while but not all the time. Would the life be significantly shorter? Also, this car is my daily driver.

Unless you have the money readily available, I wouldn't. If it were me, I'd save the money until my next Z, and go F/I from the beginning.

It would be fine because the motor is broken in. also it depends on how you drove the car since you've had it. if you do go FI then replace the rods and pistons upgrade the head a bit to be safe. it will save you money in the long run I did it. and my car is fine. in fact I had no problems with it. go ahead and do it.

You need to do research IMO, but here is an example-myself I have an 03' had 53K when I boosted-I tuned the car, ran very reasonable power levels, did a fuel system, good guages, everything, even done correctly 3000 miles later----> BOOM. Others will slap on a kit, not tune it and be fine for 30K miles, aint modding a b!tch. The point is, if your not financially ready to take on the worst-dont do it.

Yeah that is a good point. And to answer the issue of how I drive my car. Yeah sometimes I test the merging power. But I dont really romp on it all the time. I would say barely if anything. But yeah maybe I should hold off then. How much would the rods and piston heads cost about? For a decent brand that is.

What happened to your car, Alberto? Don't remember reading about that. Did you fix it?
