first you need to decide how much you want to spend and how long you're willing to wait.
you could go now and mod an 06
or you could wait and get an 07 in Jan, which no one is sure about the potential of..
or you could get a GT-R in spring of 08...
only you can decide how much you want to spend (in all) and how long you want to wait.
if cash werent a big issue to me, id get a cheap 03 and mod that. then when the GT-R comes, sell+part out the 03Z and get that.

You mentioned that you were going to pay everything up front (which translates to paying for the entire car at the time of purchase-no loan). I then stated that it is not smart financially to pay cash for a car.

Ok.. Here is the deal.. It's a little confusing
There is a NEW G35 coupe coming in 08. Check out the coupe concept on this forum. The 07 G35 COUPE will NOT be new. It is basically just a carry over from 06. The 6MT has the REVUP engine, which is down to 293 HP. I am assuming, this is due to the new SAE ratings.
To confuse you even more the 07 G SEDAN *WILL* have the new HR engine. The 07 G sedan is the first new G to arrive, then the G coupe.. Ok.
We know the Z will probably be just a carry over, but it will have the HR engine, active head restraints, few other stuff (check nissanews) it appears it will not have a redesign... Keep checking nissanews.com for updates.
If you want to own the current body design of the Z, the 07 will be the way to go *unless you want to do some serious modifying* Who knows how long it will take to get out parts for the HR, or how many kits would even be available.
I really want an 07, but I think a new ZED may be around the corner, so I just dunno.

but yeah back on your topic if you want to mod the hell out of it then buy it now (hell buy a used 2005 or 2004 with low miles and save ur self some cash) because like everyone said the parts are out. But if you just want a slightly faster car just wait and then you dont really have to worry about modding it.
