Dealership Honesty

I am concerned, perhaps irrationally, that our dealer will sell our car to someone else and tell us delivery has been delayed. We ordered our car January 23 and were told in early June that the car would be arriving in mid August. Our packet number is fairly low one, 441. This week we are being told that the car will be arriving sometime in September. Additionally our salesperson is no longer there nor is the general manager who we knew personally.
How can we keep our dealer honest and prevent him from selling our car to someone else, and second, how can we get better information from our dealer or Nissan regarding our car and delivery date.
We will be contacting the dealer inventory control mgr tommorrow but are not sure if we will get very much info from him.
Winter will be here before we know it and anxiety is increasing daily, especially hearing about people getting their tracking numbers and vin numbers.

Good luck and stay in touch with the dealership and on this forum or the most up-to-date info.
contact the inventory manager for the dealership. I am fortunate. My dealership is a very small one where the service manager is my salesman. He's not going anywhere, and he's got a 260Z
