****, afford them?!?! Hahah, if making my car heavier was in my plans I would buy them. Plans for my car don't include adding weight, or "tacky ricer style". That is only my opinion though, I like the clean look not the Fast and the Furious look.

 

Man some of you guys are just retards. Who cares if its a Ford commercial. You get $300 and a cool experience. Besides, if they pick a good looking Z nobody is going to remember the Ford anyway . If I lived in Cali and had a stereo at all, I would do it. Its not the end of the world my friends. At the end of the day, you still love your 350Z and the Mustang guys still love the Mustang.

 

Exactly my feelings. The 350Z is not a cause, it's a car. I don't understand why people would "cut off their nose to spite their face" so to speak, turning down an opportunity to get paid to have your car appear numerous times on national TV, and to show off the fact that regardless of how cool Ford says the Mustang is, the Z is still a better looking car. The public will make up their own mind.

 

How about Z pull up and throw some dirt on the mustang and peel out? Go look for some Neon to help with your commercial

 

There not looking for a good looking Z, they want a riced out one with 18" subwoofers in the trunk... So that pretty much rules out most of the Z's on this forum... All I know is whoevers car gets the part will be teased until the end of time lol

Everytime he pulls up to a light some kid is going to roll down his window and say "Hey didn't I see your Pu@@y car run away from that Mustang in that Ford commercial"

Even if someone does have a sponsored Z car here Im sure there sponsors would be real pleased seeing the Z they spend money on running from a fight on national TV

 

Hey, the good news is you'll always have plenty of cars (probably stangs) willing to race afterwards.. it would be fun to shock them when the TT kicks in. =)

If I lived in Cali, I'd do it just to have my claim to fame. My uncle was a cop in the Keys when they were filming a James Bond movie and he got to be an extra in the movie.. he's still talking about that ****...

 

Well it would be your car not you in the commerical as you will be sitting in the lot while someone else drives your car.

If this was a commercial for a Autoparts Store or a Nissan Commercial I would do it for free... But like I said in my earlier posts there looking for a ""F&F style 350z to make fun of" so that pretty much counts my ride out, well that and it being black..

 

Where did they say they were looking for a riced out one? You mean to tell me that a body kit and stereo system can't be tastefully done? Chances are the car chosen will be ricey, but I myself am not going to jump to conclusions.

That car's sponsors would be extatic to see their sponsored car in that position. Sponsors sponsor you for exposure, not because they like your car. They put their logos on cars that they think will be in the spotlight the most and thats the extent of it.

 

well... can we just close the thread, haha, i guess we all have different opinions..... some say they hate fords because they are fords... thats great... some people like fords because its cheaper than fixing other cars... whatever.... whatever tickles your pickle fella's..... my dad and i drove our old ford 300,000 miles with no despair.... and still sold it to someone... most motors are built to last about 200k if maintained properly.... and ford has been building since like day 1... when Jesus was alive.... haha god luck with this thread.... and please flame me if you wish...... haha

Sounds like there looking for a F&F ride to me... but as you mentioned he didnt say specifically they were looking for one, but im pretty sure any clean ride would not get you cast. Just my opinion...

 

I can think of a few people's Zs that fit this description and are very clean. When they say that motor mods make no difference, that doesn't mean you can't have any. Thats just saying don't bother if you have 500whp, but look stock because you won't be seeing the engine and the car won't be using any of its power for the commercial. I think NavyGolf's Z is perfect for this; Clean body kit & wheels, and a very clean custom stereo install. Its red though...

Do you even know who Craig Lieberman is? He's definitely a fan of all things automotive. Rememeber the Supra from F&F part 1? That was Craig's car, before they gave it the F&F paint job.

When Craig was looking for cars for F&F he made a post on my board that started a bit a controversy. He posted on a Hyundai board that he was looking for cars, but no Hyundai's. Well after several pages of back and forth, we were able to get one Hyundai in (a silver 4-door Elantra). Craig explained his dilema perfectly. As a consultant, his job is to find cars that fit what the director wants. Even if Craig thinks something is rediculous or makes no sense, he doesn't really have any say in the matter. In F&F, the director wanted cars that would appeal to the masses... cars that looked wild (graphics, neon, big stereos). They really weren't trying to make a movie for hardcore tuners. They were making a movie for mainstream America. Same goes for this commercial. Ford obviously wants to show an import that fits the stereotypical "import lifestyle". They're not trying to make something that shows the 350Z as a better car than the Mustang. They trying to sell their car.
