Newport News is one east coast port the cars will arrive at.
Just a quick message.
I was told one port of entry for the cars would be Newport news by Cindy Shaw at the Virginia regional office. I was wondering about all those members that are able to figure out which boat contained the Nissan cars....maybe we can figure out when they will arrive?

I hope this is true - I'm only about 30 miles away (I work in Suffolk) The VirginianPilot (newspaper) lists the ships arriving by date. If we could find out the name of the ship...maybe they need some help unloading?
Someone said that NJ was also an east coast port of entry that might be used. I wonder whether the mid-atlantic region cars(Northern Virgina specifically) would come from the NJ port or the Newport News port. They're both about 4 hours away by truck.
RxO, can you shed any light on this?

Don't rain on our parade, this is all we have to entertain ourselves until the next bit of information (VIN) comes out then it will be trying to track our cars into the port. I am dying here with the wait.

I just called the Mid-Atlantic # and a secretary tried as hard as she could to deflect me back to my dealer. I finally convinced her that they were of no help and she mentioned that I would need to talk to Cindy Shaw but that "She has been swamped with calls today" (wonder why), and I would have to talk to her voice mail. I left a messege and hopefully she will call me back.
Cindy Shaw just called me back and she was EXTREMELY nice and VERY helpful. She said my ETA is Sept 30th but this could possible change. She said that Nissan won't have a VIN until the car is "three weeks away" from the east coast. She also confirmed that my car will arrive in Newport News.
I asked her if she wondered why she was getting so many calls and she laughed and said that a previous caller told her that the number was on the internet. I told her that she was "famous" now that her name was on my350z.com and she got a big kick out of that. She said that they tried to pull it up on their computer but couldn't see anything. I told her that they would have to register to read the forums. She said they may do that later on. She couldn't get over the fact that her name "is on the internet"
She was very helpful and nice. CINDY, if you make it on here....THANKS!

Green-Gifford couldn't guarantee MSRP so I went to Victory where they wanted 3K over MSRP but he'd talk to the sales mgr. to see what they could do. There actually is no sales mgr, just a pool table, "Scrabble" and a worn copy of "Gone With the Wind" they use while you nervously wait. I walked on this dealership as I had no desire to play their "messenger game" I then got on the internet and asked others where they bought and a nice guy from Atlanta steered me to Alliance Nissan where I bought the car over the phone for less than what I offered Green-Gifford.
Alliance is in Elizabeth City, NC. and run by Aunt Bee, Andy, and
Goober - you won't find nicer people anywhere and the apple pie is delicious.

lol bill. Hall Nissan sells at MSRP. I had a friend in the business who recommended this dealership because it was the only one he knew of that wasn't overcharging customers. They didn't give me any apple pie though.
