I called the mid-Atlantic headquarters of Nissan to ask a few questions about the new Z and they informed me that they had a blue 350Z in their lot right now . I hopped in my truck and raced over there and took a look . It was a Track model. It is in town for the Tom Petty concert next week at Nissan pavillion. The rep came out when I was there and let me start it and play with all the gadgets. That is some sweet auto. The motor purrs like a kitten. I ordered the chrome silver touring model. He told me tah Nissan will make 5,000 a month in Japan. They just started production this week. I ordered mine on May 13th and he said that I should expect to see it the first of October.I love that car.

I'm very close to that office but as crazy as it sounds, I actually would prefer to see the Daytona Blue in person for the first time on the day that I take delivery.

Those bastards. I noticed that little garage underneath their building. Figured that's where they had been hiding it over these past couple of days. Been dying to see the car close up.

Hmmm, is that the Mission Impossible theme I hear in the background?

Was it in a fenced lot or anything? How late will it be outside?

I spoke to a lady and she said it would probably only be out for a couple more hours.

Haha... I'm on the phone with the lady now, and she said:

"Some guy called earlier and asked if there was one available for viewing. It was so cute."

I asked if it was Bob, and she confirmed it. Haha...

It's supposedly going to be driven around to the dealers for viewing tomorrow.

Since the sighting a couple days ago (both Red and Blue) I've driven by there twice. There is no fencing outside the buidling. However, the building has an internal garage underneath it. The only entrance to the garage appears to require a code to open the garage door. Seems like from the reports, during business hours you can sometimes find the cars parked outside. I'm sure they move the cars inside at the end of the work day.

Not sure any of this will help, but it's all I got.

DunReit, if you hear of it being outside for viewing at any particular time, please let me know. I'll definitely take leave from work to drop by.

Thumbs up

I went out this morning to see the Z, and had to wait, but it arrived. It will be parked out front for viewing for part of today, so stop by and check it out. It's a base model, daytona blue.

SWEEEET!!! I LOVE the BLUE. Thanks for the heads-up. Not only did I FINALLY get to see the Z but I saw it in my color. I don't think pictures do the Blue justice. Its much more metallic than pictures can show. Also, there was a little more storage space in the back than I was expecting. About the only negative I saw, is that it is going to be impossible to run a power cord from the outlet to a radar detector on the dash. All well. Now one question, just to show my ignorance -- the front tires had the numbers 94W on them and the back tires had the number 96W. What do these two numbers mean?

Thanks for the link, although that site did not explain in detail what the load index was. BTW, if anyone else is interested, this site in detail describes speed rating and load index: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...eral/speed.htm

The speed rating on these tires is 168 MPH.
