But i've had several nice mustangs an Anniversary SC harley truck and i traded it for a Z. Still have my 93 mustang that's turbo'd and runs 9's at around 149mph. No one makes or has made any bad remarks about any of the previous cars. When i drive the mustang out everyone is super nice and are always goin on and on about the car. No one makes a single negative comment even though i've got well over twice as much in it as the Z. I think it's just the area that i live in. Filled with rednecks who think if your not driving a ford or chevy then your rich. One imparticular in a old blazer had been looking at my car at the redlight. We pull out and after we get up a little speed he flicks he's cigarette out his passenger window onto my car. I pull up and was like WTH you just flipped your cig out on my hood. He said sorry next time i'll hit your windsheild. I'm not goin to repeat what happened after that but i was furious. Didn't hurt the car but it was the principle of it. Had i been in the harley truck or mustang that wouldn't have happened. People act like it's a damn porche or something.

Then last night i came outside of a restaurant last night to find a good size dent in my pass. door. Just turned 1,000 miles too. I parked it under a light where no cars were even close to bein around it. When i came out an hour later still no cars around but i had a dent in the side. I guess i'll be goin to my local paintless dent removel guy sometime this week. Anyone else have similar problems like i've had?
Someone once flicked a burning cig onto my newly painted hood earlier this year; there's now a Ford Econovan in Phoenix with a missing driver's side window and some shattered glass in the middle of Bell Rd...

...and more importantly, a driver of said van who will now (hopefully) be properly disposing of his cigarettes.

Kudos to those that can keep their cool

You could have also reported him to the police headquarters. Maybe that woul've scared him a bit and if you get lucky they stop the car and he has a illegal weapon or something. Then you won.

Well it's a small town so if i ever cross paths with him again and he starts with me again i'll not take it lightly. I just had a good day racing getting 3rd in true street and then 2nd in a car show with the Z so... Kinda caught me off guard. Will not happen again cause i've been kickin myself for letting him off the hook so easy.

Can't really do anything unless it was in self defense ofcourse. My family and I have our on real estate business so that would not be good. I could actually lose my license over something like that. Not worth it over some dumb redneck. I'm friends with to many cops including the chief so i could burn him a new one if i wanted.

People from the south just tend to look down on foreign cars and cultures, I wouldn't let it bother me though just ignorance. I'd be glad to buy an american car if they could make one as nice as the z for less than 30 grand.

Ironically, doesn't Nissan have a plant down there in TN?

Knock on wood nothing has yet happened to my Z, but if that day ever comes, I give three words to the perps:

RUN AND HIDE

RUN AND HIDE

I would go to the ends of the world to avenge the defilement of my car.

This may seem crazy, but sometimes I take a picture with my phone of the license plates to the left and right of me in a parking lot in case they decide it's cool to leave a door ding in my car and run.

Wow stories like that upset me. One time on the highway when my car was new and stock, bunch of punks purposely held there arm out the window holding a cig, and let it go. I moved around it, they missed. They then tried to speed away (yeah like a Chevy Lumina with 4 punks will outrun me) I passed them, cut them off, got infront and sacrificed my Wendy's biggie soda for the cause. All over their windshield/car--> Vigilante justice = owned...

I know what you mean. I live just a little South of you in Jackson, MS. We have the same problem here. Despite having a HUGE Nissan plant here, there aren't many Zs running around. I caught up with the local underground racing scene one night, and it's all Mustangs, Vettes, domestics... and several 17 yrd old kids.

I get much the same reaction here. I have the Nismo kit and deep dish wheels, so it stands out like a sore thumb... I came out of a concert one night to find a huge dent in my passenger door. There was still the muddy boot print left on the door. I was pissed!

It all boils down to jealousy. Some people can't stand for someone else to have something nicer... Just realize that some of these rednecks dont respect their own sh** (imagine the hoopty ride they probably drive), so how can you expect them to respect yours?

That is me, I just got done washing/waxing (Turtle Wax ICE, ftw) only to see that my perfect passenger door has 2 little dings in it. I park so far away, I've walked miles (yes, miles) extra in total since I've had my car to avoid that sort of thing and it still happens anyway.

I would also point out that Nissan (plus a lot of other Japanese car companies) has over a half a dozen factories making cars IN AMERICA. The irony is killing me.
