You guys totally went off topic..anyways..

To Post # 1 here,

Thank you for showing me this website...i have ordered the Black one, since i have a Super Black color, it will barely show from a distance... (check out the 3 pictures on top of the Mini cooper of the cars that are black and see how BARELY you can see there is anything : http://doordefender.com/car_and_truc...rotectors.html )

I would highly recommend this to car owners that park in close and tight parking places.

To the all those that call it ghey/gay..i'm sure i'll be there to say "Gay" to your car door's dings..

Think about it guys, $70 for the car's sides (both) are do you wanna pay $500 for repaint every other year. And if you dont deal with tight and close parking place, don't comment - you dont have a problem.

I have to park twice a day in tight places in my college parking lot, and i park all the way in the back, next to even more expensive cars - but every now and then an H3 or stupid Element with its sui cide doors will come and ding a car or two.. I'd pay the $70 any day over the expensive paint jobs!

To the one who said it'll get stolen - read the site again, it has an attaching protection which will prevent the stealing..(but u never know..)

Off the soap box..

I'm going to start engineering my own product line with duct tape and a pillow.

Actually they may not be horrible if you painted them to match your car. But they will still be awful.

I'm not sure that will even protect your car because different cars/trucks have different shaped doors and sit at different heights. Someone's door could still swing open and strike a part of the door that thing isn't blocking.

Maybe they'll be aware of how stupid they look and notice your car.

Its kind of odd looking. Im thinkinig of getting this. Its like wearing a bike helmet/lifejacket. you'll look pretty gay, but at least you'll be safer.
do what i did, i was in my dads jeep wrangler sitting in the parking lot waiting for my dad to get out of the store, and he has those metal step up bars for that reason, and this lady SLAMS her car door open as almost hard as she could. Not seeing I was in the car, I got out and went around and she said, oh I am sorry! I said its alright, I only got a chip in the bar, look at your door. And she turns to her door, it like made a sideways V mark in her door, she was SO pissed, and shes like, your going to pay for that, and I just laughed and waited for my dad to curse her out, all and all at the end she ended up giving us 50$ for the nerf bar to fix the chip and she went shopping pissed. :-D

Dont do it, just once a year go spend 100$ to get the small dings fixed.

coz alot of the guys here seem to just bash crap without actually reading the whole stuff.

to the guy that said paint it to match your car - dude did you not read my above post when i said i own a Super Black Z, and the black should blend right in.

gosh some of you make me ,

and i dont know about you but $100 a year for paint first of all seems very cheap and low to me, here in TX, your looking at a good $200-$500 depending on damage!

And that also every year umm i dont think so, i at you all for doing that, I'd rather spend $70 and deal with it for a good 5 years before painting it, and that also IF its that bad...

So my $70 Vs. your $200-$500 any day and every year..bring it on

Plus its just for parking, not to be driven with it on,

It's hideous.. and you're assuming that those are the only vulnerable spots on the car.

Maybe this will work...

Dude, tell me you actully put that on and take it off, when ever you park for 2-3 hours!

Go up and read what this thread is all about, its for that certain doordefender thing....

And i'm pretty sure on my car it probably wont even be that obvious, but we'll just have to see. I've already paid them and also forward this whole thread to the owner, he replied saying he was gonna check it out, let's see how it goes.

For me $70 is not a big thing for the long protection of my car's side. Coz i park 80% in places like college parking spots, stores like Walmarts, bank parking lots. And the car getting dinged is very possible so i'll risk it..

I was being sarcastic...

I agree that it may help, but my point is that is will not help you avoid dings and dents altogether. Plus, in my experience, people that do things like this to nice cars tend to get more "purposeful" damage done to their rides by other idiots in the parking lot.

Lame. What about protecting the front and back bumper when you are parking on a regular street? Someone might scratch it while parallel parking.

I just park in the right corner space if possible. Lowers the odds of a ding and I still get to where I am going the same day

I know one person who has a very expensive car who always puts a car cover on it when he parks his car. I mean _whenever_ he parks his car, since it also keeps his cat from scratching the paint.

I salute people like him...

with my M3 i would always get out at take a good 3-5 minutes to put the cover on with the locks on the bottom, but after a few months- i became lazy and then only did it when i parked for more then 8-10 hours..few weeks later i just gave up using the cover totally!

So for me the doordefender would be nice experiment!
