Default Shift ****

On my 06 Grand Touring with 6 speed the shift **** twists, I tried turning it clockwise to fully tighten but won't go full 360 around, will let the dealer know it is somewhat loose next time it goes in. Any ideas meanwhile.

Me too.

Stock shifter is good to go, though! I think he just needs help tightening it...

Yeah, the ball type shifters are the best IMO. That style of MOMO shifters feel great but since they are universal, they don't fit as flush as Nismo or other ones made specifically for the Z. Unless you get a new boot of course.

As nice as this one looks..it's gotta be a biotch to grab this shifter when the Z has been in 100 degree heat....OUCH!

So..I'd probably opt for the Momo one above ^^

I have the silver one, it doesn't get too hot. Ive had it in 95 degree weather so far. I wish it was a little bit taller, but the pistol grip rocks. After i got used to it, i'd shift faster than w/ stock

I say get an aftermarket one. I've got a Momo Shadow in leather (old skool, baby). I've had it on my last 4 cars. I took off the stock one because that metal shift pattern plate burns the sh*t out of my hand here in Vegas.

I have to bust out a towel sometimes after letting my Z sit in the sun for too long. I have the nismo carbon fiber shift ****, and it will literally burn the word "Nismo" into your hand if its been sitting in the heat for too long.

shifts great tho

There is nothing wrong with the stock shifter, and if you palm the shifter like you should be doing anyway, the fighter pilot shift sticks aren't very condusive to that. They do look cool though, and aftermarket shifters can obviously change the feel via length/weight, but really it's not a worthwhile mod IMO. People have reported some of the aftermarket shifters are much better than others, but for what it's worth, unless youre going after the cool factor, just leave it stock.
