I think I covered it. Read my post, and the link I provided. VLSD is a glorified open-end differential, with the luxury of robbing power.

Honestly debates between Base and Enthusiast models are discuss countless times. I would say search. I went with the Base model so you could figure out what my opinion would be.

~And please seach.

Or buy a base because it is the lightest and the simplest of the bunch. i have a friend that has a model with VDC or TCS and the light stays on after he put rims on it. A dealer in Miami told him that always happens. The icon light is a car with little skid marks orange in color.

That is probably because of his TPMS system. If they did not reuse the old valve stems, the tire pressure system is going to give off those lights. Any of the models will do this. The indicator light for the TCS/VDC systems is the 'SLIP' light. I think you are getting confused by the low tire pressure light.

Default Base

I too choose the Base because the difference in price for me was like 2k. I got my base for 27300. The only thing I wish I had was the controls on the steering wheel and the cruise control. However I doubt I would use the cruise control too much anyway. I don't like to stay at one speed for long in the Z. If you want to save money, I honestly think you will be happy with the base. I've added a few things to mine so it looks different, but no matter what model you get, heads will turn to look, as long as you keep it clean and shiney!!! Also buy the ceramic brake pads no matter what. They were recommended to me and it is amazing how little brake dust I have now. Good luck.

The light he had on was the Slip light that always stayed on. And the dealer said it happened very frequently with his model.

Earlier you said it was a car with skid marks

You will only screw up these systems if you get incorrect sizes for your tires/wheels. If you do research and get matching sizes, you wont have any problems. Sounds like the installer does not know what they are doing.

Bear with me, I have the base and don't know about these lights. but I did see his on and it was the car icon with skid marks. Then you said it was slip light so I thought that was its name.

The Slip light says "SLIP", I don't know what the skid mark light is for.

As for Base / Enthusiast, I picked the Enthusiast because although I don't use cruse control that often, I like it quite a bit when I got the CHP behind me.

I bought a track simply because I know it will be a while before I can shell out 4-5K for a good set of wheels and than a decent set of brakes for spirited runs in the canyons as well as getting a diff installed

Plus all the small goodies you get with the upgrade

I paid about 32800 or so for my Track model (plus tax) so I felt the upgrades in wheels, tires, brakes etc... were worth the few extra bucks a month --- kept my cash in the bank ---- not to mention resale value later

Base is still a Z though

Serg, I bought my setup of brakes and rims in a junkyard. Paid $1600 for everything. Needing an LSD, though.

well 5 thousand dollars difference is usually the going rate around my area between an enthusiast and track.. but 3 thousand dollars for complete brake setup and 3 thousand for a nice set of rims and tires. all depends on how your budget really is. i have an enthusiast model for 27000 brand new. so depends. but between a base and enthusiasts if you chose you dont have hids or lsd and a few little things here and there.... it all depends on preference

The price difference to me was worth it so I bought the base. I also want to build the car to my liking. I've only had it about 7 weeks and it's a zcargarage getting a Quaife LSD installed, just dropped it off this morning.

If you want Cruise control, steering wheel controls and the pedals, go with the enth. I didn't care for any of those but if I did I would've gotten the the enth.

Good luck.
