Exclamation Thinking about getting a 350Z...

I'm 18, and my mom's boyfriend just bought 160 acres on the coast in Oregon and they are moving up there. I'm also going with them and will finish college up there.

Anyway, the driveway is going to be about a mile long and all gravel, would this mess up a Z? I know a truck or SUV would be more practical but I would never want to drive one, I'm more into sports cars.

Wouldnt that be very expensive to keep all that road paved?

I could stay here in Florida but I need a change and I've flown up to Oregon a few times and it is beautiful. Also a 7000 square foot house > small 2 bedroom apartment

gravel roads suck, i lived on a 1/2 mile one.... i dont know why people do it, price is not the factor because it expensive to have gravel brought in every few months, and even if you pay for that you still get huge potholes in between hauls

im pretty sure its cheaper in the longrun to just pave + no potholes + no paint chips + faster speeds....

maybe concrete? not as expensive

I'll have to find out how much it costs to pave it and see if he will do it, maybe I'll chip in half or something

Also how bad is the snow in Oregon?

After you move, look at the roads. Whether or nor it is drivable should be simple to determine.

He's not likely to pave a mile of driveway just so you can drive a sports car.

Not a reasonable request.

Actually, you will be fine with gravel driveway; just go slow and do not follow another car (which will kick up gravel onto your car).

Well, Im in a Similar situation. You wont be able to drive the b!tch in the winter. Dont even think about it or you will be stuck 1 inch from where you started. Also, your car will always have a two tone paint job like mine. And it will be all scratched up. But if you want a Z, Get it. Then you and I can compare scratches or who's is dirtier. Or Who has the most mud caked under the car. It would be interesting to have this kind of competition actually. Go get one.

Also, the cost of paving the road, will be many many many times more than the cost of the Z. So looks like thats not going to happen.

Amount of snow in Oregon depends on where you live. It would be good to know where & how much snow to expect.

I'm guessing it will cost over $100,000 to pave it? I should just ask him for a Ferrari instead

it cost us $4,000 to pave 3/10 of a mile. 100k would be a huge ripoff
