Speak for yourself. I ordered 48 hours ago and I'm already tired of waiting.

You gotta be kidding, this is a production line ... schedules and through put are the life line of assembly lines. Parts need to ordered, shifts scheduled... there must be some idea. I believe that it may be complicated but there have got to be some dates around!

Besides Nissan starte this pre-order thing and should have anticipated that people would want to know.

There are dates around...and they've nailed it plus or minus 10 days.

Does everyone want to know the time of day it's coming to the dealership 2 months in advance?

The only date I have is plus or minus 3 MONTHS. If Nissan would tell me my delivery date plus or minus 10 days, I would be ECSTATIC.

Sorry Robbyn,
I figured that at this point people were able to tell their dealers how to look up their R, S, or T #...if you can get that...the date +-10 days will correspond.

BTW- you've probably tried this already- but

I called my worthless salesman yesterday to try and get that R, S, or T # and lied...

I said, "Hey Mr. Dumbass, I just got of the phone with Nissan Headquarters and they said that a few days ago some tracking #'s were assigned to your pre-orders and that you should be able to pull them up on you inventory person's computer."

He said "Really? hmm....let me go in there and talk to our inventory guy"

A couple minutes later, he got back on the line and said, "You're right your # is T30..... and it ways expected delivery is October 31 +- 10 days."

He then said that all 7 of their pre-orders were in the computer as well and that he would call the other 6 to let them know their approximate dates.

No, I don't have my R, S, or T number yet. I've tried everything but lying to get my tracking number from my dealer. Maybe I will try lying next week.

wooglin, isn't it sad that in this "information age" it still gets down to the dealer knowing (or more importantly, not knowing) when information is available for the customer? I believe this is the heart of the emotions expressed here in the past 24 hours.

I see what you're saying...it seems that it wouldn't be hard to send pre-order people emails or something, in hind sight. I really think they had no idea of the 'enthusiasts' desire. Nissan's new to this whole pre-order thing, but even more so, DEALERS aren't used to customers calling inventory guys about order #'s and such.
The recent post from Jay with the Nissan letter illustrates this. They'll work on the communication- hopefully sooner than later.
