Never thought I would have to check the oil every other week or so on a brand new car just to make sure it's at full mark.....

But damn, it's an awesome car........

I wish I had known about the cheap paint because then I would've had it clearbra'd from day 1, instead of spending money to repaint it and then clearbra it later on.

I wish I knew about the '03 alignment/tire wear problems and the propensity for chipping paint.

I knew it would ride a bit rough but handle well in the twisties and on the track. I also knew about the ineffectiveness of engine bolt ons and what it would take to get to 400 RWHP.

Finally, I didn't know how addictive the car is. I do now and am in counseling.

Wish I knew that the early '04's had the feathering issue and the magical 13,300 mileage limit on getting new tires. Also, wish I realized how much of a douchebag all car salesman are

How can you determine if your car is an early 04 model or a late one ?

I wish i'd been told that you couldn't put a dead body in the trunk without it being visible to your girlfriend in the passenger seat.

+1, and just so you know, it's cheaper to get two dents pulled than it is one. So when you get the first one, as hard as it will be to do, WAIT. It cost me $89 for one dent and $139 for two.

I don't understand the rattle thing. Mine is coming up on 4 years old & I still only have one sometimes rattle in the dash.

Should say, I don't get rattles on Cali or other warm climate roads which are generally smooth. In snow/ice country I'm sure the poor roads lead to a bunch of rattles.

Wish I knew the 07 was going to have a much improved engine. So frustrating! Everything I don't like about the engine should be fixed in 07. I bought new in may of 06. Had I known, I would have waited for the 07. No question. Pisses me off that Nissan was so tight-lipped about the 07 until the last minute. Basturds!

Anyone want an 06 cheap? lol right!

Mine is an '05, bought it like 4 month ago and wish that I new about the paint on this car, everything else is pretty smooth so far but I only got 5000k on it right now. Probably going to end up selling it as soon as 07 come up (if I really like 'em) I am Redline fanatic and having a redline at 7500 from a dialer is awesome.

Ya, I also serached a bit, so I kinda knew a thing or two about the car before I bought it.

Zcoupe, you clearly have not. Z's, especially older 03-04 models, much like mine, suffer from some bad transmissions, much like mine did, and they will grind a gear or two for no reason, much like mine did. Nissan realized this problem and will replace the tranny at not cost, much like they did for me, and about 1000 other people on this forum alone. Go to the repair section, and see the many "sticky's" already made for this car.

So from what I have read, the tranny issues are on manual versions? The Tire feathering on 03 or early 04 models? Is the tire feathering correctable and how do you know if you have it?
