Default Got rear ended...insurance question

I got rear ended on labor day by a 70 year old asian lady. She was going 15 mph max so the damage wasn't too bad. The body shop is buying a new bumper and corner signal light. my question is, now that my Z is in the shop, can I squeeze a rental out of the lady's insurance company? I don't have rental coverage on my policy so I borrowed my bro's 96 beater stang but it would be nice to get a decent rental in the time being. its going to be 4 or 5 business days before i get the Z back

It is always the responsibility of the responsible parties insurance to provide rental reimbursement. That means while you vehicle is in the shop being repaired for the damage caused (not for any additional work). You would rent a vehicle on your cc and submit the bill for reimbursement from her company.

BTW- I'm an Allstate Agent

Same here however their insurance asked me several times if I needed a rental. I would try to contact their insurance. It does not hurt to ask. (GMAC was the co.) It might depend on how good the co. is or how much coverage the other person is carrying. Good luck.

Definitely. Just be polite and ask

What rental agency do you have a contract with? I will pick up a car there while mine is in the shop.

According to the insurance law, you have the right to get a rental reimbursement from her insurance co. since it's her fault.

Does that mean one can get a rental at anytime, then later hand the bill over to the other insurance company (the party at fault)? As long as it's not your fault right...

Why does it take 4 to 5 days for a bumper replacement? I would think one day is plenty. And yes, your rental should be paid by her insurance. They may also wonder about the number of days too.

Only one problem. To prevent abuse, Hertz won't rent the GT350-H to locals. You have to show an airline ticket or have an out of state ID in order to rent one. This goes for all Hertz locations.
