Default Why couldn't my Z beat an M3

Folks, there is this secretary at work (don't bother asking, she's beautiful but married and I don't go after married women) who drives an E46 M3 and we go back and forth about who would win in a race (especially after teasing her about driving a yuppie car).

I know races aren't won on paper, but on paper, it seems like my Z would keep up with her. Granted she has more horses (333) but it takes a while to get there (7900 RPMs). My Z has more torque (274 vs. 262) and weighs about 200 lbs. less (offset by about 50 lbs. because I weigh 175 and she weighs probably about 120).

So I ask again, if we went to a half mile track, why couldn't my Z keep up with her M3?

You mean a quarter mile track? Drag strip?

I haven’t the faintest idea who would win. Go to the drag strip and post the results in the drag racing forum. BTW no one no one no one who has asked a question similar to yours has ever followed through at the drags strip. Never.

I asked just for the sake of curiosity, I have NO intention of actually racing her (and I suspect that she doesn't want to race either). So judging from the many people on this forum who post that and M3 would handily beat a Z, I was wondering if that would be true in my case as well.

Since she's a secretary, I doubt she has the scratch to afford a $55,000 car so I'd guess that it's her husband who has the money. Also, I just don't go after married women, call it professional courtesy (but don't get me wrong, if she were single, I'd ask her out in a heartbeat).

I have raced my cousins 6spd e46 on a number of occasions, and it seems he has the kick from the start if we go at it from a dig but from a rolling start in 3rd we stay pretty much neck n neck through 4th and 5th...

Screww the race! Think of the money you saved when buying a car which is better than the m3 from ALL angles. M3's are hard to work on and a waste of money cuz the potential just isnt there..

When all is said and done, your Z is a sexy *** car and the m3 is pretty bogous. I pity those who waste their time n money on m3's.

In this DVD:

A 2003 350Z goes up against 2003 S2000, M3, and Boxter. There's a race on a pro track... all cars are driven by professional Japanese race car drivers. The boxter is pathetic... S2000 is good on curves but loses on the straightaways.

The 2003 350Z beat the 2003 BMW M3 without a problem. M3 not that impressive. Dunno if they've changed it significantly since 2003. There's also a Skyline GTR in the mix (cam car) -- it blows everything away

Who cares who wins!? This thread is worthless without a picture of her standing next to the M3. And we'll judge if she is worth racing against or just being looked at!

You dirty old man. Here are her stats (just from guessing):

-roughly 5'5"

-120 lbs.

-size 4

-her M3 is a manual (pretty cool for a girl to drive a manual)

Does this help render an opinion.

Sorry, I was only kidding about the "dirty old man" thing. Thanks for the reply, I figure if I'm careful with the launch, shifting, etc., it would be a driver's race.

Also, while I'd love to post pics, I can't think of any way to considering I don't really see her outside of work. Sorry, guys.
