Why couldn't my Z beat an M3
The guy we bought my car from sold it for an M3..I am a fan of both cars, I've driven an M3 my mom drives a 330i which is fun and my dad drives an X5 4.8is with 425 hp, and 335's on the back..bmw's are just better cars..but that doesn't mean I would ever trade a 350z for the M3 because they are both great looking cars but when you mod them they always seem to be equal in looks and performance which makes the Z a better deal.

Does this guy want to race for pinks? I can take him in my Volvo.
The E46 M3 suns a 13.4 1/4, and has a 0-60 in 4.8 coupe. It will take the Z. Stock VS Stock. I like the Z but you can't compare them the M is just a better car but than again it costs twice as much. End of story.

On a side note I saw my first brand new m6 today drivin back from lunch on work. dude looked real yuppy and of course i knew he could destroy me but i still wanted to make him earn it. so at a light he's creepin forward so i inch as well to let em know i want a piece. we both launch well but he totally blew it at gettin into second and i jumped several car lengths quickly, got to 50 and just put it in neutral and costed to the next light and he blew by me like a tough guy, whatever, i looked better and it cost me 75k less.

lets see, M3 has more ponies, higher rev meaning less shifting which is better at a light to light race, has itbs so its much more responsive
vs
287 or 300hp with much shorter rev meaning you have to shift meaning you will loose time if you are a granny shifter, lighter but driver weight difference pretty much negated the car's weight difference.
I mean if you launch your car corrently and the M3 doesn't then there is a chance you will win. If you guys go from a regular start the M3 will definintly pull on you.

ok, I actually HAVE raced an M3 on the track. It was only an 1/8mile and the M3 won both times. However, I was quickly catching her and definitely would have passed if I had another 1/8. So I do believe that the Z will win on a 1/4 track. I think top end, the Z has the M3 beat.
On the street you can coolly pass the M3 over speeds of 140mph. Atleast this same particular M3 I'm talking about. It was chipped and had exhaust and intake but it is entirely possible it was slightly messed up.
Anyway, on the AKA Rally, on the road, I've raced many E46 and E36 M3s and my Z certainly wasn't hanging out behind.

Stock for stock, both manual transmissions, and given the same driver,a new M3 will b!tch slap a Z around. Top end they have trapped 106-108mphstock, thatsa big difference from 100-103mph. Longer the race goes, worse it is for the Z-again STOCK FOR STOCK.
