That's why I shift at like 3-4k rpm's and shift very slowly when I've got a. girls, b. relatives, c. friends that aren't into sports cars or spirited driving, and d. people that suck...haha

Oh...or when the person in my car already seems like they're about to throw up.

Yeah, the only head bobbing action you're getting in a civic is either from the music or a frisky girlfriend......

Yea, i think they bobble because of inertia, when the car accelerates if pushes them back into the seat and when u shift the acceleration stops thus causing their head to move forward but once u give it the gas again their heads moves back into the seat.

yea exactly, depends on how far you step on the gas really, me in my crappy little mazda 3 im WOT all the time (cuz it only has 160 hp /cry) my passengers are always bobbing back and forth, except for the really sense ones leaving finger nail imprints on the arm rest

Yes it happens. If you don't like it, buy the maxima with CVT

It usually happens when I shift from 1st to 2nd.

So I now shift from 1st to 3rd when I have a VIP= "Very Important Passenger".

It's a little smoother and solves the problem.

This happens with every passenger in my car. If they have a problem with it I can take off my belt and wrap them to the headrest by their necks.

Isn't that bad for the gears though?

if he was at like 4k in 1st then went straight to third and let the clutch out right away, rpms would still be way high, the car would probably even jerk foward a bit, but given that the point is not to bob the passengers head, he probably waits for the rpms to drop to the appropriate level, in which case no its not

it might wear the synchros slighty more but nothing that will ever have any affect

i was thinking of doing that once, but i was always afraid that the RPM/MPH wasnt going to be matched.
