Default still waiting

350ZSpeedRacer,

I have one on you...

I order my car on April 21, 2002.

I was told the car was in the city pound on Feb 17, 2003.

On March 5 I was told a second time that I coul dnot get my car becasue it was .. get this ... snow logged in their pound!

I have been waiting more than 2 weeks with the car parked less tha 25 miles away and I can't get it, you wanna talk about frustration!

Anyway, patience it will all come together!

That's AWEFUL!!!! I can't believe you're still waiting on your car. If it had been as long a wait as yours, I would have demanded my money back and bought from another dealer. They sound like they really don't have their act together.

I'm ready to go buy from another dealer if mine doesn't work with me on my car. I already know of three other comprable cars in my area, and I plan to use that to my advantage when it comes time to pick the car up.

Good luck to you, though! I definitely have less to gripe about than you!

By this point in time, there should be a good enough nationwide inventory to get you the car you want with the options you want via a dealer trade. Don't settle for less than you originally wanted!

BTW, the stock NAV is beyond cool... just haven't seen aftermarkets that do the third person view.

Problem, there is the waiting. This car was SUPPOSED to be here end of January, then it got pushed back to end of February, then first week in March. I'm so sick of waiting, I'd rather just take this car, with a good batch of goodies and discounts for their screwup, and just go for an aftermarket nav system.

Christi,

Didn't you buy from Bankston Lewisville? Your car was there today going through PDI (did you pick it up tonight?) and it was just F**KING BEAUTIFUL, no nav and all. I figured it was yours because the only option was floormats.

---Is there any chance that the internet isn't right? It shows my car's VIN but it doesn't have the Nav system! This was one of the major reasons I wanted this freakin' car! I'm supposed to pick this thing up tonight and I need to know how to go in there!

I've waited 6 months for this car to get here after several "delays" and now it may not even be what I ordered!

Can they even install the factory Nav System after the car's been delivered? If so, what are my chances of getting them to do it on their dollar? There's no way I'm waiting another 6 months for my car and I don't want this one without the Nav.

I need your input!--
Do not take this car.

I had the same thing happen to me but it was with the stick vs the auto. I wanted the stick and they were trying to give me the auto. Call Nissan of North America and get there help. They helped me.

Wait and order or get the car you want!!

My fiance did give me a good idea, though--that spot could be used to "hide" my boost control gauges when I go turbo. And the money I might save would put me that much closer.

I just want that freakin' truck to show up so I can pick her up tonight!
i was thinking that myself ..... after a year or so and getting used to the car ..... twin turbo w/ boost control and nitrous .... have all buttons and gauges in there

I don't know much about Nav systems, and since I didn't order it with mine, I have a question. Is the factory Nav better, or is an aftermarket Nav the way to go and why?

Brad-- I just got back from picking up my car! I ended up with an acceptable "apology" from the dealership, so I took the car and they even got me a better interest rate than People First. I've already showed it to all of my relatives in the area and I'm meeting some friends for dinner tonight with Kyle, and I volunteered to drive so I could start racking up those miles!

Now that I have it, I REALLY LOVE this car! I'll post pics for everyone as soon as I get my hands on a digi cam from my office.

When I was filling out paperwork, Kyle said that at least 10 people stopped by my car and were practically drooling. I can't wait to start putting all the parts I have on her.

350zSpeedRacer,

Congratulations on your new Z! I know you've been waiting forever and I'm happy to hear you finally have it. BTW my SS/Touring 6MT (yes, it has NAV) is about 60 miles short of 1,200 miles. Wait, what I am doing here? I could be out putting some more miles on my car! (lol)

I've also noticed that the car starts shifting smoother and accelerating better the more miles you put on it. You’re going to have a hard time wiping that smile off your face. Enjoy!

What did you decide to do about getting an aftermarket NAV or DVD?

congrats! You should take it to the Tweeter in Frisco where skidazzle had his stereo done and have them hook you up with the nav.

Congrats on the car! Hope you are happy without the Nav. I'm sure there are good aftermarket options that will do what you need if you really want a Nav.

Just curious, how do your bumpers/gas cap match? My front is fine, but the rear and cap cover is off in some lights. Not enough to bother me much, but noticable. I think I'd heard they were changing the process to make the matches better. My VIN is in the mid 7000s.

Christi,

Sorry to hear about the problem with the Nav, but congrats on finally getting your Z!

From someone who ordered the Nav, I can say that it is a nice toy and useful, but as you should know now does not make or break the car.

There are plenty of aftermarket ones available if you were not planning on keeping the car stock anyway.

So, what sort of butt smooching did the dealer do to make up for the mistake?

It's really not too noticeble, unless it's in the sunlight and you're looking for it. Still not a perfect match, but it does look better than some of the early DBs I've seen.

Everyone else--thanks so much for everything, I'll swipe a digi cam from work tomorrow so I can take lots of pretty pics. I spen this morning installing the grounding kit and the exhaust I've had waiting for it for months now. After I get back from my honeymoon and I pick up my LEDs from Skidazzle, I'll take off the front bumper and get to work on my intake and LEDs.

PS--I'll check out Tweeter in a few weeks about the Nav. If they have something I really like, I may go ahead and do it, if not, that console is the PERFECT place to put my boost gauges when I go Turbo.
