Default Alignments

Ok I bought a ste of rims for my Z and 2 months later both rear tires were bold on the extreme inside portion. The rim store I bought them from said that I need to do an alignment with the stock wheels and then put the aftermarket ones on, because they go off the stock specs. My question is should I listen or should I just have the car aligned with the new wheels. Cause it doesn't make sense.

Find a shop with experience doing alignments for competition cars. Whatever wheels and tires that you want to use should be on the car at the time.

I would think the wheels wouldn't have much, if any affect to the alignment settings. They may have said that because their equipment doesn't support anything but stock size rims (17"/18"); ran into that with my Celica.

Thats what I was thinking. It doesn't make sense to have the stock wheels on. I'm thinkin about just going up to GTmotorsports to have it done.
