Had my new c/f hood painted by a body shop. I left the vents c/f and had the rest painted. I explained how picky I am and wanted hood perfect. When they sprayed the clear on it left a few barely noticeable drips and inperfections in the vent on both sides. They said they would fill slight divits in hood, they didn't. When they buffed hood there are some spider like swirls on hood. Definately doesnt look close to factory quality but I guess I shouldn't expect it to. I would have posted pics but inperfections wouldn't have shown up. Like I say they are slight but are noticeable. I hate to be a pain in the A but what to do?
If you paid good money for this paint job... fight them. As long as they are noticeable, they are unacceptable. We own a body shop and we never let anything go that is unacceptable. That is why people wait 6 months just to have their car repaired/painted by us.
If you paid very cheap money for this paint job... well, remember... you get what you pay for.

I paid $450, I just feel like I am being too picky. I wanted perfection but maby I didn't pay enough, I don't know. Some of my friends say na its fine and the car guys no way.
Tough to say without actually seeing how the paint job turned out, but in general, you have the right as a consumer to demand that the paint job is done to your highest satisfaction. Regardless of how minor the imperfections might be, I would say that you definitely ought to challenge them on it if you feel that the job wasn't done correctly. If the shop thinks you're being too picky, that's their problem.
