Default repost of 17" photo chop

i did this a long time ago but since there a lot of new guys and I used to frequent the zcar forum more, then I will repost this. I also estimated the 1 inch difference between these rims and the ones originally seen on this pic

makes the car look a little...plump. the wheels are too small! aack. and the square things in the spokes make it look a little cheap. perhaps it'll look better in real life.

great photoshop work!!

I agree with knihc2008, the looks kinda heavy. If that style was in 18-19 inch it would look good

The smaller wheels do make a dofference in the overall look of the car. But, it doesn't look bad. I like the style of the 17" wheels (7 spokes instead of 6). I wish the 18" wheels were 7 spoke.

Yeah, I agree. Too much wheel well showing. Can you do the 18" Rays? That's what I'll be getting on my Track. Thanks!

I did this a while back to try and get a feel for what the 17"s
would look like. It's hard to order a car w/o knowing what the
paint or wheels look like and once I found out my dealer was
not going to rape me for two grand over sticker, I changed my
order to the touring model so there would be no guessing....

I actually like the 17 inchers... not only because I am getting them. Although bigger wheels usually means better looks, I think the 17's are big enough for the car.

Of course I will probably look into aftermarket 18's or 19's later...

But my point is that the 17's don't look that BAD as you guys say!

I think they look awesome, IMHO. The squares dont look cheap...in fact there will be squares on the rays, no? As for being too small...THEY'RE 17" for crying out loud! Most ricers sprng big buck to 3-plus size from 14" factory rims....

BTW...they probably look cluttered cuz its photoshopped. They are way more prevalent than the real will will ever be (i think)

those look really nice but only because you made the 17 inchers really big on the car. those would be like 19's in real life.

I disagree.

17's are pretty darn big too... Didn't the old 300ZX come with 16's? I may be mistaken.

Default Photoshop Black w/17"'s

Do you think you could, when you have time, photoshop a Black Touring with the 17" wheels. I have NO IDEA how to use the tools necessary in photoshop to perform this artistic surgery. It would be greatly appreciated. At least then I'll have a real idea as to what the dream Z will look like in Aug.

Thanks Again

Well, this is the point I am trying to make. The 18's look awesome... no doubt about that. They make the car look better, but 19's would make it look even better I think. I mean, there are always things you can do to make the car look better. I am not refuting any of those things. If I wanted to spend $33-34k to get the track so I can get those pretty wheels, I guess I could have done so. However, I just don't think that it's so detrimental to the enjoyment of the car that it is justified.

People were doggin on the 17's like they were the ugliest things on earth. And they are not. They actually look pretty good (yes, good for you that you got the 18" ray's, and your wheels do look better... satisfy your ego?), and I think they are good enough for me. I don't know what you meant by saying that "reality checks can hurt," but I think that was unnecessarily inappropriate. And kinda rude too, I might add.

I also like the look of the 17's. Additionally, IMO they are not nearly as succeptable (sp?) to damage from potholes, etc. as are the larger wheels.

Sorry if I offended anyone, didn't mean to.

I was referring to your post:

"17's are pretty darn big too... Didn't the old 300ZX come with 16's? I may be mistaken."

I agree, 17's ARE darn big!

Most cars are offering 16's or 17's as options now, only a few offer 18's.

I'm getting the 17's too, and the more shots of them I see, the more I like them. I might change to 18's later, maybe even Rays, if Nissan doesn't price them in the stratosphere.

As to the 18's filling the wheel wells more, I don't think they will. my guess is that all the tire diameters will be the same, give or take a 1/4 inch. 50 series, vs. 45 series.
