350Z Specification Released in the UK
OK, so it's only the preliminary specification...
...but I just thought I'd share my happiness with everyone on the board.
We are still all waiting in the UK - Launch date October 2003 - but we're getting there.
OK, bye now (you lucky, lucky people)

Didn't mean to tease...
You can check out the UK specification at the link below:

Very sneaky, Nissan
If you want a 350 in the UK in 2003 the only model available before year end will be the GT ( £26500 ) with the (non)optional alloys ( £1000 ) and the optional orange leather ( £350 ). So whilst the fantastic 350 is only £24000 ( $38400 ) for the base model, if you actually want one it will cost you £27500 ( $44000 ). I wouldn't care except all you get for your extra dosh over the base are cruise control, BOSE stereo and leather seats. Bet the profit margin on those extras is good, though.
[ This info from talking to my Nissan dealer who has been holding my £1000 deposit for some months and went to a Nissan briefing in London yesterday ]

Yep, you are correct...
...plus the Orange Leather is only available on Kuro Black, Gun Metal & Sunset Orange.
I can also confirm that there is no Sat Nav, but there is preparation for phone integration through the steering wheel.

Read the prelim spec.
Noticed that the RPM is subject to "homologation". What is homologation? Not sure I want to go there.
Also, noticed that your Z will have ESP. My beagle seems to have ESP when it's near feeding time.
Just kidding with you. I bet the excitement is starting to build over there.
Cheers,
WayneTN

Wow. I can't believe there are such fewer options in the UK than there are here. We have 5 models to choose from--you can't even get the one I have over there.
Good luck to all the Brits who've been waiting for that Z to finally be released!

In all reality, it probably makes the same same 287hp that ours does.

First UK release will be limited to the most expensive models i.e. 350Z GT + 18" Rays with Orange Leather only available on a limited range of colours.
But, hey, we get the Z !
Also, with regards the HP, this is the same figures as quoted for JDM models, so it looks like we are getting the same set up as Japan (does this mean the Mine's ECU will work on UK models? - we will have to wait & see)
Have fun

Sounds pretty close to the Australian options...
HP = 275 (due to emissions? all performance mags have gotten 0-100 times of 6.2 -> 6.7, quarter mile around 14.5)
Touring and Track
Track has 18" (non-rays), VDC, Brembos, Front and rear spoiler over the Touring (+6k Aus, just under 3k us)
Both have leather, bose, electric & heated seats, cruise & climate control, 6 airbags as standard
No HIDs, no tire pressure monitor

Have not heard whether we get the Tyre Pressure Monitors, but all models will have the Rear Spoiler.
No Spray Guards for UK models either.
VDC=ESP
Base has cloth seats (but not available until 2004), while GT is heated leather.

It's been a long wait &, still, we have to wait until October 2003 for the first trickle of UK 350's.
Let's just hope the Nissan God smiles favourably on my order.

Yes, it's not just the seats (as US)
The orange lether will also be on the shift boot & the handbrake gaiter. Not sure about the steering wheel, though.
Once the cars are released, or once we get some brochures I will post pics & let you decide. No Frost interior for the UK either.

Note the extra buttons on the steering wheel (SIX in total)
Glad I stuck with the Black interior, IMHO the US spec orange interior is nicer with just the seats in Orange
