hey peoples. I think I'm probably just being paranoid here but when i have the windows down i can hear my z making a slight whining sound almost like theres a tiny supercharger under the hood. It changes pitch with the pitch of the engine. in other words as the pitch of the engine goes up with the rpm's so does the pitch of the whining. and then when the car shifts gears and the engine goes back down to a lower pitch the whiining does as well. is this normal?

My experience with the whine, is it's the clutch/tranny.
Rev your car with the clutch pressed in.
Then rev it with the clutch out and car in neutral.
It will whine in neutral clutch out but not with the clutch in.
Will also whine when in a given gear is engaged and vehicle moving.
Will change with rpms.
I actually like the whine sound. One of the few noises it makes I do like.

I have the same problem, I think it might be my S/C though
j/k One thing I have learned about the Z is that it has a million little noises that are normal, not much noise dampening on this sports car also the more you drive it the more you will notice these little noises. Trust me its normal, I would not worry about it.

Hahahahaa.... Cause she whines like one! J/K not hating on women, but just found that funny..
Actually my car whined with the engine all the time.. and I later figured it out.. Its the radio! To listen to the whine better, I turned the radio down. The whine was still there, but as soon as I turned the radio off... Poof! It totally disappeared.. don't know if the guys installed it wrong or what, but it was definitely connected...
Give it a try!
