speed wise no... but knowing that it can go up to 165 when Z always shuts down at 155 and requires a chip to go beyond that.. yes...

though i heard some people say the speedometer passes 155 but speed remains at 150ish... not sure about this...

I didn't view that as negative.

I don't think most did. Just a few idiots quick to attack people without even reading everything.

The Z roadster is such a hedonistic toy. It is pure sensory overload. Completely impractical and frivilous with the sole intended purpose of being socially irresponsible and politically incorrect.
I think the bold part there is a dead give away.

EPA is 14/21. Most people are getting those numbers. 8 mpg may occur transiently under hard driving, but I'm willing to bet under hard throttle the mileage of a S/C'd or turbo'd Z with equivalent power isn't much better. I thought about the whole mileage thing for a while, but then I said, WTF, you only live once!

That's amazing considering that the 2006 and 2007 RS4 have a top speed of 155. You go boy!

I read that 8-12mpg is typical (I may still have the article) and the salesman confirmed that to me. However, I have a turbo'ed Z and while the mileage takes a hit, it is still considerably (2x or more) better than that.

I do love the car also. But when I looked at it, gas prices were up and I just couldn't see doing that. Good luck with it though.

when you're under boost, you're not getting anywhere near 16-24 mpg though...its in the single digits to very low double digits. The same is the case for the RS4. Under a steady state cruise, the mileage does not vary significantly from the Z.

Not to menion, it's an enthusiasts car - I'd venture to say most of us are not the "greenest" people out there; if we were, we would all be talking about what the max lip you can get for a set of Volks on a Prius

Of course I'm not under boost all the time. But anyway you twist it my average mpg for a tank of gas is 16-24mpg and the RS4 is 8-12 mpg. It's an 8 cyclinder engine - all the time! I would say that its mpg is significantly worse than the Z no matter how you look at it.
I bet it sounds sweet though.

according to Audi its 17/20 city to highway (per their site). I've got a good freind who's father has one, says that the trip computer averages about 17 during mixed use. That's not remerakably different from my NA Z

it is a very choice ride...my avant is envious

You didn't thro in the other piece of brilliance until somebody else questioned you.
Besides....anyone who orders headers....receives them......and creates a post concerned that they are being held togeteher by little melted pieces of metal.......definitely doesn't know dick about cars. BTW....those are called "welds".
Also......exactly how many times have you pushed your Z to the speed limit and got frustrated you could only go 150ish? Just wondering.

Actually, the EPA combined mileage rating is 17. 14 city/21 highway. Now according to actual owners of the RS4 on their website that is the equivalent of this one, people are getting in the mid-teens overall. EVERYONE is getting in the 20's during highway driving.
