Both A and B. I know about the history of the Z, and I definately appriciate it, but it was not an influencing factor. Actually, if the personal experience I've had with the history of the Z was an influencing factor (my dad owns an 89 300ZX NA) I probably wouldn't get one at all. His Z is kind of boring to drive.

It really helped me learn alot about the history and roots of the Z. Very good read. I'll admit that I knew next to nothing about the early models, and very little about the 300. This helped change that.

B-Train, I always loved all the Z's, especially the Z32 TT when I was in high school. My appreciation for Nissan and the Z started when I was 11 and I first saw the 300ZX. I thought it looked like a ferrari. Then in high school @ 16yrs old, my parents wouldn't let me get a Z32 TT because of the power. I didn't want a base model because that's just teasing, so I got a 97 maxima in a 5 speed. Absolutley loved the VQ's in the Maxi! That' made me want a Z even more. Graduated from college about a year ago, and two months after, got a Z33. I love it!
Kiko, Take a look at a 1971 240Z, I garuntee you'll like it.

A. Did you buy your 350Z with no prior knowledge of the history of the Z?
By history do you mean the common problems that 350's have? If yes, I knew there were known problems from research I'd done, but not to the extent that has become evident to us all over the last few years, but when I purchased my '04, were still a bit new. If I'd known all the potential problems, especially what I've been through with my 350 over the last 6 months, would I have still purchased the 350, well that's a tough call. Love the car, but would have probably gone with one of the European options I was looking at, even though they have problems too. Pretty much all new cars have problems, just some worse than others. Was going to have a 2nd 350, but now it will be something else most likely.
or
B. Are you a Z lover influenced by prior Z models?
Love the lines of the Z right back to the 240 & 300 in particular. 240 always reminds me of the E-Type Jag, real classic class. 300 for it's pure grunt and the mods you can do to them to produce massive power in excess of 500rwkw's in one of our clubs down under. 350 was my 3rd brand new Nissan in slightly over 6 years.

A. I was/am in the import scene and was a Honda head and hated all things Nissan! I'm aware of the older models, and knew the Z car was at least as old as the RX-7, putting it in the early 80's. Also, knew they made a car in the 70's, but didnt know if it was imported to America, now I try to learn all things Z, I want a book, but cant find one!

B.
My dad has had 2 300zx in the past both white N/A 5spd one with flip up headlight but forget which year exactly then he had I think a 91' T-Tops that I loved when I was little, then my first car was a 1990 Z in the light blue color (?) but it was N/A AT so I didnt mod it, but I remember when the new Z was first coming out we got so excited he ended up getting one of the first 350z after I got one of the first RSX-S.

B., but not really. I know the history of Z cars; actually my dream Z is the 240Z. But i didn't buy 350z because i'm Z fan. I just buy it 'cause I Evo and RX-8 back in '04, except Subaru...which i don't really like, and the car that i didn't have yet was the Z. So, i then decided to buy a Z
