I agree this does sound like a conflict of interest, regardless of what I know about either group.

Not talking about Brent? .... Brent's situation is probably the proverbial Straw that broke the Camel's back. As much time and money that he's spent at AAM you would think his setup would have been done right. I really don't like the fact that AAM is passing the buck by saying that there were mutiple parties (companies) involved in the build and no one knows who is to blame.

Premium shops wouldn't go this route. If AAM was a "Stand up" shop they'd take the blame because they are the primary shop that did the build. If they thought a fabrication from an outside company wasn't up to spec then they should have denied it and asked them to re-do it.

Interesting comment I found on a mustang forum.

Question:
What do they do at Altered Atmosphere? I need to find a shop to tune my **** when I'm done with it. How about machine work?

Do they do good work?
Answer:
No absolutely not. Do not get any work or tuning done at Altered Atmosphere. We're just borrowing their dyno so that Phil from Element Tuning can tune it, as he doesn't have a dyno facility.

Andrewtech Automotive (www.gearboxtech.com) is an awesome and honest guy, as well as an amazing mechanic. He specializes mostly in Subarus and is one of the most well known and arguably best in the United States. I'm sure if you talked to him he'd be willing to take on whatever project you had... he's right there in Gaithersburg.

Do NOT go to Altered for any work though. I've heard they blow up cars like blowing up cars is going out of style.

OMG this one takes the cake ....

http://newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=186769

Read post #4 about a "NX install gone wild"

post #6 is even worse ....

That is the worst place to do business. They installed my turbo kit and Im still finding stuff they did wrong. The new shop I go to now is still fixing AAM F-ups.

My problems with AAM: Injector harness and vac lines installed incorrect. Gave me someone elses dyno and tried to pass it off as mine. Piping was not in correct places, oil line had a kink, my wideband blew out in 2 days and over charged me among other things. They quoted me for the install at 1000-1500. I payed upon pickup 2,497 dollars. And then to fix their F-ups another 1000 including dyno time.

DO NOT GO TO AAM FOR ANYTHING. They should be closed down. They are not a member of the BBB for a reason.
Altered Atmosphere Motorsports is the worst place I have ever done business with.
Why are they not part of Better Business Bureau?

I'm going to stop now before I get banned for posting too much of that stuff called the TRUTH.

STREETTRENZ, I dont know why you are coming to stick up for AAM like they havent done some shady sh*t. I think your going to make a bad name for you guys if you keep up. People on this forum believe in earning your name, and for you to come with 25-30 post and talking like your a sponser or even premier member is pretty lame. Im not a member premier yet, but I do see how this sight works. Goodluck.

STREETTRENZ MAG what are you doing? This is a very bad way to create your image on this forum. Besides, it is known by some that someone at Altered has partial ownership in the magazine. You are doing nothing to help either of you. You should probably stop now before you get yourself into the mix any further.

Very interesting...even more interesting that none of AAM's "new customer service oriented" employees or the "master tuner" have any comments.

EDIT: Based on later posts, I stand corrected.
