Default Snowed for the first day today.

First day with the snow and the Z and I have yet to drive the Z as im nervous as hell. I read through some old threads and from what i gather i need to get snow tires. Im wondering though what snow tires you guys recommend that you have used on your Z's. Also i was talking to another Z owner and he told me that i need to put weight in the back of the Z so it doesnt spin the tires to much in the snow. I just wanted your guys opinion on this. So if you guys could just give me a list on what you think i should buy then that would be great because im going to try and get everthing for the Z 2morrow. I have used the search function and it has helped i just want it all in one thread so i can print up a list.

Thanks in advance.

I purchased a set of 17" wheels and Blizzaks for the winter time.

Oh wait... I remember now. It's that cold white stuff I slide on when I go up to the mountains to ski in the winter.

For now, no snow for me. Just lots of sun and high 70s, perfect for top-down driving in my Z Roadster.

Think about what you need. I weighed the cost of 4 17" Blizzak tires + rims from tire rack, and decided to instead pick up a winter beater / commuter car. Saves the Z from daily wear and tear, I get better mileage out of my beater, and I don't have to constantly worry about someone door dinging / backing into / etc. my beater like I was my Z. While I don't know your personal commuting situation or anything like that, let me ask you this question... Do you really want all that Michigan road salt on your Z?

Saw it in a movie once. It was white, if I remember correctly.

For the cost of those 17 or 18" winter tires/steelies you could buy a sweet beater! You may even save money as you can reduce your insurance on the Z to just fire/theft

I found 393 snow posts in the tire forum. Don't know what I can possibly add.

The 350Z is my daily driver.
Can you drive a 350Z in the snow? Yes.
Is it wise to drive a 350Z in the snow? No.

I bot these when I lived in Michigan. Now that I live in Georgia, they don't see much snow. LOL

I just moved to Washington a month and a half ago, so I managed to miss all of the snow that I would have seen previously living in the Detroit area.

That being said, my plan was to buy some old POS beater truck, like a 78 Bronco or something, and let my baby rest during the winter. Better safe than sorry.
