Default New Z Owner with questions

Hey ya'll (yes I am a southerner) ha!

I have a couple questions, since I am a new Z owner.

My wheels that came on the car (eeeh) not feeling them at all.
So I am looking into getting some staggered wheels. Looked at the Volk wheels. Does anyone else have any good ideas. I like 5 spoke type, I want a deep lip & staggered. 19's or 20's.

Also when you put other wheels on the car I notice that the tire pressure gauge does not work, I guess because the valve stems that were on the stock wheels are gone. Is there a way if I buy new wheels to get stems that would make the gauge work again?

I am sorry with all my questions..ha! If we were talking motorcycles I would know it all but this is new to me.

I would appreciate anyone who could help answer these.

Thanks so much!

Hey whats up Karmz,
The wheels you should get is totally up to you, the owner. But make sure your offsets are under +30 but over +12. There are plenty of different wheels for the Z. Take the time to look around in the forums and ask the specific owners if you have questions about their rims.

You can always put your tire pressure sensor on aftermarket wheels. I've heard some successes with them but some people have trouble with them. Most people leave it on their stocks and just go without TPS on their aftermarket rim.

Feel free to use the search button if any other questions come to mind. Have fun with the Z and happy modding.

Haha, this thread is funny to me because I've never seen another member post questions like this without an immediate "There's a search button, USE IT". But when a cute female posts these questions it gets a 3 paragraph long response.

I was thinking the exact same thing like someone is trying to add a friend on myspace. That other guy Danielwebb or whatever his screename is, gets flamed like 85 times a day for posts like this, but as soon as "hi I have **** and bought a Z and I don't like my wheels" comes on you get a freakin novel for a response with no real answers.

Search the forums under wheels I do.

Hey, a question is a question...no biggie. Volks are awesome wheels...especially their forged quality for the $$$. Look for some re-sales on the Volks. I got mine brand new but they were re-sales by a forum member who couldn't afford the tires...you can find a lot of deals out there. Also, BBS has some nice forged as well as Racing Hart.

I don't have tire pressure sensors on my Z. I believe you have to get some sort of special aftermarket valve stem to make them work with new wheels...but it can be done. Your best bet is to search the wheels/tires forum for info on the TPS. Good luck Karmz...and WELCOME to the Z family!!!

Welcome and congratulations.

The site is divided into forums. An example is the wheel forum where you will find information about, ummm, wheels.

Well thank u for the tips. I have not sat down & went through this whole site, so that is why I asked a question or 2. And I am praying this forum is not like some "others" where people pull out the red pen on every single little thing about another person...kinda childish & immature to do that especially sitting behind a monitor doing it. But anyway..hehehe

I appreciate everyone who has helped.

Female or not, I've helped many newbs with many questions especially with rims, since I've gone through 9 sets in the last year alone. https://my350z.com/forum/media-share/221045-rick-status-auto-did-this-to-my-z.html

I've never posted "There's a search button, USE IT"... because I know what it's like to be new to a forum at one point. If I can help someone I will... through PMs or posts... but if not, I wont... plain and simple. The SoCal Z guys know what kind of person I am.

i think I should also point out that unless you do go with aftermarket sensors, unless somone can prove me wrong your dash light indicator for the tire pressure will always be on, you can get rid of that. I balence tires i mount tires a swap tires, and the sensors are nothing but a pain in the **** because they can be broken very easily with the machines i use. and by somtimes next year every car by law will have them from a daewoo to a porche.
