I think most of us grew up with this "show" car didn't we?
I always swore when I was a little boy that I'd have a black car with the KIT radar in the front. Well, I've got the black car.......

I'm a "Go" kinda guy. The Z look dead sexy stock, so why mess with it much? Besides, I like the "dropped jaw" effect when I pass by a modded stang and they ask....."WTF is in that thing?!!!!" And I reply....."its stock bro...come back when you have a 10lbs pulley for your SC!!" hahaha.

Depends on whether or not the rims are of the light-weight forged variety or all chromed out (that crap is HEAVY!). Same thing with scissor doors. Those added hydraulics don't exactly weigh zero pounds. Full on audio isn't too bad, but some people go so crazy with audio, that is is like always riding around with a passenger and full tank.

Anyway, I am more show than go. I do agree with the consensus though, a bit of show mixed in with all that go is the best, IMO, for the street. Who wants a totally gutted street car (and I mean gutted, engine, trans and body shell only) with no show? All go is too much unless you are building a track only.

On a somewhat related note (I told the wife no mods until car was out of warranty or paid off, see sig), I have a disease. Last night, I was wondering how much weight I could save by dumping the spare tire, jack, tow hook thingy; pulling all the plastic from the car I could, etc, etc. This is what I get for swearing off go-fast goodies for a while, I am looking for perfomance gains anywhere I can! The car is only three weeks old! Someone, slap me now! Stop the madness!

Nothing more embarrassing than having an all-show car and getting whooped by an all-go stock looking car.

The better is handles and faster it goes the more likely I am to be driving, nothing wrong with a stunning looking car, but definitely "go" as number 1.

Both, to show your gonna need the "go fast" parts. What I dont like, is the ones that gut their interior to do the whole weight reduction thing!

I put only two choices on purpose. If I put a choice for both show and go, no doubt mostly everyone would choose that. Like I said in the first post, we all lean toward one or the other, I just want to know which one it is we would lean toward.

the Z already has quite a bit of go. adding some nice exterior work wont mean its all show no go.

It's not an argument, it's an opinion poll. If you prefer to 'mix it a lil' then that's fine, I'm sure no one is gonna fight you for that. However, if Chuck Norris doesn't 'mix it a lil' then you're in trouble.

Go car.

A nice clean stock look w/ a ton of extra power.

I'm usually less impressed with a show car, something about how flashy they are turns me off. Even if the car has some speedy mods, all that noise is just too much for me. I do however love the GO.

That's not to say don't put anything on the exterior, but subtle styling is key to making a car look good in my view.

To be honest most of the "show" mods I see on here seem a little to flashy for me. It ruins the cleansliness of the Z's design IMO.

I could not have said it better than that.

The demographic for Z owners would seem to definately lean towards go, rather than show, which I knew before I saw the results so far. You can put some nice shoes on there and maybe a few little things to spice it up a bit, but put most of the cash in go. I just see no point in having an uber nice show car, thats still slow as a dog. I rather have a go car that will smoke the show car, and not look quite as pretty.
