Default Almost bye bye tranny

took my car into the dealership to get an oil change, I just hit 20k miles so i thought i'd change the tranny oil too...

right before they were going to start on my tranny fluid change, I ran into the service bay to check out what fluid they were using cause I read up on the forums and the manual that the Z takes API GL-4 fluids... the b@stards was going to put GL-5 fluids which I read will mess up the synchros... close call.

Are you saying they weren't going to use the Nissan MTF (which is GL-4) but some other brand?

yes they were going to use valvoline, I was thinking that i could've just let them put that stuff in there and screw up my tranny and get a new tranny from them but went against that idea cause it's too much hassle. I'll just change the tranny fluid myself.

Throwing this out there so other members can be on a lookout. Even dealerships can screw up big time...
