03 350Z Touring AT 50k new tranny coming
I thought my tranny was acting a little funny but I could not explain exactly what was going on it just felt sloppy, for instance hard shifting and a little hesitating when downshifting. So I called my local Nissan dealer and they told me to bring the car in a take a ride with a tech. So I took the ride with the tech and I basically said that I have driven the car for 30k of the 50k and it doens't feel like it did when it had 20k but he probably was not going to feel what I was talking about in a 5 minute test drive. To make a long story short the tech told me they were ordering me a new tranny. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the AT tranny replaced. I also wanted to let you all know if you are in PA Eisenhauer Nissan has been very cooperative with me and I was treated very well by them. Thanks Eisenhauer Nissan.

We'll just dropped her off for the new tranny and fuel line recall under warranty. They are also going to do an alignment, tire balance, oil change, belt change, and possibly brakes. Not looking forward to the bill but looking forward to more miles in the Z.

Transmission maintenance
I had issues with my transmission as well. (Almost 50K miles on my 03 Z). I did however make a serious improvement in the way it performs.
I changed the lubrication. Drained the old Dino oil and installed 4 quarts of Redline MT90 (synthetic) oil. Also changed out the differential at the same time (using Redline 75W90).
I had switched from Dino oil to synthetic in my old Porsche and found it to make a huge difference in the way it shifted. Same is true for my Z.
Shifts had been very 'notch like' but now are quite smooth. Well, not as smooth as my Porsche but much much better.
