Guess it all depends on what your priority is... If it's performance, you're going to do all of the "go-fast" mods before doing any cosmetic or acoustic mods.

Take my case for example, I've done pretty almost every "go-fast" mod I could to my Z and I'm still rolling on the stock stereo system--- which wasn't even the Bose system!

I agree that if you only have enough money for headers or sound system, do the sound system. It's a "stand-alone" component that you'll get good improvement from. Headers without any other changes (HF cats, cat-back exhaust, intake, etc), probably aren't going to do you much good for the hassle and expense.

Oh man I just had to get rid of those crappy base model speakers...they are just that bad. Anyways, I have both but decided to go with the sound system first. I guess I just need that extra punch in my music.

Welcome Airkobe24. It really depends on your budget. If you've allocated a certain spend for your first project go sounds. If you start modding mechanically you'll get caught up and find it hard to stop at the headers. Depends ultimately what is the most important to you.

If you are just starting out i would suggest an exhaust over headers, then work from there if you are serious about performance stuff. Sound systems are always nice since the stock radio is pure crap.

Soundsystem x 1000000
Headers, unless tuned properly, do squat on a Z most of the time..

Theres better mods that could be done rather than headers, but still thats a better direction.

IMO Sound system crap is the absoloute biggest waste of money possible, bar none. The again I've yet to turn the radio on in my Z even once.

Not sure if I'd say a sound system is a waste of money... but I guess I survived so long with the stock radio-- prefering to listen to the symphony coming from my twin turbos and exhaust...

The sound system was the first thing I did to the Z. You gotta have nice sound while driving a nice car.
