Tonight on my way to Savannah, I had to take some desolate back roads. The problem with back roads in GA is that there is barely any room between the tree line and the road, which translates into little to no time between when you see a deer coming out of the woods and when they are in the road. I came within only a couple inches of slamming into 2 little doe while going 60 mph. I thought I might have clipped one, but I got out and checked to see that my car is fine. I'm glad I'm driving the Z now, because the horrible suspension in my old Altima would have left me in the ditch with the speed I swerved to avoid the doe. I also saw a huge white dog walking along the road going in the opposite direction, so hopefully no one slammed into it later on.

Basically, this is just a warning to those of you who have to take back roads to travel. I was lucky tonight, but I'm definitely going to be a lot more cautious so I don't get so close to wrecking ever again. I love my Z, and I'm happy it's still in one piece

I've never had a close call with a deer, but I've had a close call with a tire. Its very scary. Without something that can handle an emergency swerve, I would have lost my front end to a tire. I tend to drive really slow on back roads that have close tree lines for this reason.

Hit a doe doing about 85 on the interstate. Front bumper, radiator, headlights, A/C....and hood. Stupid deer/doe whatever.

While driving today, I got distracted, and according to my friend, ran over some already dead roadkill. Checked the tires and didn't see anything though.

Yesterday evening coming home from work I had a close call with a recliner!! Some idiot who was moving didn't secure his furniture that he had in an open trailer and coming around a curve transitioning from one freeway to another there was a freakin recliner in the middle of the fast lane. I couldn't go right as there was a car so I had to go onto the shoulder between the chair and the 4 foot median wall. Man, my heart was racing as I could have been more than a foot from the wall. Oh, and it was raining too.
