152mph (pic)

ha..... this is like the 4th time this pic has been in question...
I'll say it again.... the pic is real. no photoshopping.
believe it or not...
Shot with a Nikon Coolpix 995 with wide angle converter. Fill flash was used so that the pic could be exposed for outside. Since fill flash was used shutter speed was fast and that's what stopped the motion. Because of the fast shutter speed the iris was open a couple stops higher enhancing the depth of field causing more blurring in the distance.
I have other shots.... even some of the digital speedo if anyone is interested to see them... all unaltered and very real.

Man I hope you don't fly like you drive.
One hand on the stick and one on the Yoke. :-)
j/k
I want video-- just a short .mpg of the run from say 60 to 140.
I, in return, will send a video of my weekly grocery shopping.

both hands were on the wheel... one at 9 o'clock and one at 6 o'clock. had to do it that way so my hand did not cover the speedo. my passenger snapped the photo.
and actually when you fly you do only have one hand on the stick/yoke. the other remains on the throttle. :-)

im having a hard time understanding why there is such doubt that this is real there are a couple people here who have gone over 150, one guy even has it as his avatar pic, hell, I took my buddies new VW Jetta up to 130 a couple months ago, and it was just the 2 liter GL model whats so hard to belive about 150 in a Z??

I don't think there is a problem with it being real.
Also remember that neither he nor his passenger had to look through the viewfinder if it was a digital camera. SOme of them have screens on the back that let you see what you are going to take a picture of. They also let you review what you have just taken a picture of.

You are correct about flying hand positions.
I was actually making a flying analogy to something more dirty.
as a joke of course. Some guys are stick pilots and some are yoke pilots.
While I agree with the one on the yoke one on the throttle gag, this primarily refers to flight at critical phases such as, but not limited to, flight below 10,000 feet on climb out. Once I am above that I just give the friction lock a snug and monitor my torque.
I always guard the throttles on approach, but after flight idle and just before flare, I have my co-pilot guard them and I use two hands to grease the bird on.
Many happy hours to you. and remember...
Let not thy airspeed fall lest the ground rise up and smite thee.

Here I am, redlined and pegging the needle at 160 mph.

Jeez, it was just a goof to demonstrate how the needles can be moved, which, after reading how the original had been taken, I was going to remove. But it seems that I don't have delete privileges. As to the color of the needle, it's the original but rotated fifteen degrees, with a shadow cast over the redline.
Apologies to N74DV for making his life more difficult. Now there is going to be another round of hassles from those thinking that my 'shopped 160 mph is his legitimate 152 mph.

In fact, I am removing the Photoshopped images, which will break the link to them. Reposts by others may remain but at least I will feel better about not making a controversial picture any more so.
